It's not enough that you earn more money than you spend, and you give the excess to them, they want the company to always grow. And there's only so many ways you can grow. You can expand to other markets, but eventually you're saturated. You can improve the efficiency of your workers - to an extent - but you can't do this infinitely. Eventually you reach peak efficiency and maximal market saturation.The only way to go from that point is to fuck someone. Fire workers and make the new ones do twice as much for the same pay. Fuck the customer by offering them a worse service for the same price. Someone has to take it up the ass and it can't be the shareholder or the executives. Guess what? It's you. Sears and department stores like that were. But restaurants, outside of McDonalds, and grocers, and even hardware stores before Flock Presents: Home Creepo all were usually family-owned. A lot of schools and hospitals were run by nuns who didn't take a salary not for profit too. There are a lot of ways capitalism has changed in the past 30 or 40 years, but one of the biggest has to be that C-Corps are just doing a whole lot more stuff than they used to do. In real estate. In retail. In healthcare. In education. Everywhere. In some places they even took over the parking meters and bridge tolls. Traditionally the corpos left some room for small biz and clergy and individuals. They're quickly filling all that space though. And the results are not good.
