Four teachers were injured Tuesday after a stun grenade exploded inside a school near Moscow during a nationwide anti-terrorism drill, local authorities said.

According to the Moscow Region Prosecutor’s Office, the detonation happened while participants were simulating a response to an armed attack and hostage situation. Regional health officials stated that four school staff members sustained injuries. Preliminary reports indicate that a participant in the drill threw a flashbang grenade through the window of a classroom. The device struck a desk or a wooden beam before detonating, showering the seated teachers with shrapnel and wooden splinters.
Three teachers were transported to a local hospital, while a fourth received medical treatment on site and declined hospitalization. The educators suffered concussions and puncture wounds to their faces and limbs. According to emergency response channels, one teacher sustained severe explosive trauma to both eyes, while two others were diagnosed with closed head injuries.

As of Aug. 16, gasoline and diesel were available at just 28.1% of fueling stations across the country, a sharp decline from 41% a week earlier, according to tracking data from the GdeBENZ app first reported by the Izvestia newspaper. Over the past week, fuel availability has plummeted across major industrial and agricultural hubs, including Tatarstan and the Volgograd, Chelyabinsk, Orenburg, Voronezh, Samara, Penza, Saratov, Lipetsk, and Rostov regions.
Authorities in at least eight regions—including the heavily populated Krasnodar Territory and the Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod regions—have officially confirmed the localized shortages. Meanwhile, localized reporting and social media data indicate critical supply bottlenecks in at least 13 additional territories, stretching from Moscow and Arkhangelsk to Siberian regions like Irkutsk, Tomsk, and Yakutia.
In Moscow and its surrounding regions, the deficit has become highly visible. Spot checks conducted by Izvestia at 21 capital-area gas stations on Aug. 17 found that AI-92 grade gasoline was available at only seven locations, AI-95 at six, and AI-98 at just five.
"A new wave of shortages has arisen due to ongoing attacks and unscheduled repairs at oil refineries," said Igor Yushkov, a leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund.
