Heres the issue.

My credit card APR is 11.9% fixed. My investments literally grow faster than that.

Amex gold is pretty sweet. I think the yearly fee is $250 but I forget. The perks are
$7 a month to Dunkin’ Donuts.

I buy a $7 gift card every month to my account and my wife gets something every once in a while.

$10 uber credit every month.

I either use uber or I do Uber Eats pick up and get a meal for basically free.

$50 resy credit twice a year

I always use this, we go out to some fancy restaurant and it goes straight to the bill

$10 a month at five guys and some other places like cheese cake factory

I never use it. I heard you can go in and physically buy a $10 gift card and stack them but it’s not worth it to me. Five guys fucking sucks and the other choices aren’t great.

5x points on groceries and 3x on hotels and airplanes

The points are ok, I saved mine up for about two years and got my family round trip tickets to Europe. You can maximize them gaming the system but I couldn’t be bothered learning it. It worked out where a point was around 1 cent. If you game the system and wait for a first class flight to somewhere on random dates a point can be worth 10x that but it was way too much work trying to figure it out. If you have no obligations it would be easier.

Other small perks I have used is if you lose/break an item within 30? Days Amex will reimburse you for free. I have used this once, I bought Apple air pods and lost one in less then a week. I sent a claim and they refunded me the full amount with little proof. I bet if you abuse it they cut you but it was pretty sweet.

There’s other shit like if you lose your luggage they cut you $1200 which I almost had to use but the airline found it after about 2 hours but I was looking it up in the air port at the time.

I have also done an chargeback annd anmex backed me with bottle questions. It was over something I bought annd I thought it was bullshit for what I paid. Overall I am happy with Amex.
