Well if the dollar as a trusted reserve currency erodes heavily the US population won't be able to enjoy the quality of life that unique position has given them (and the nation) through pure purchasing power.Couple that with the the large amount of debt that can't be BRRRRRRR'ed away both due to sheer size of it and the dollars position. This creates problems both through inability of fueling national costs through debt and having to try and pay that shit off (Maybe Trumpts plan is just to "nuh uh" it all) which still leaves the first problem largely intact.
