to understand why this is happening you need to understand the context of the frontline in ukraine;you have the line of contact/front line/zero line, but on either side of the front line you have what is called the "grey-zone". This is an area on either side of the front where drones are so prevalent that normal logistics and troop movements become impossible.There are many spots on the front that literally can't be reached, and troops holding those positions are effectively stuck, sometimes for months at a time until a (weather window allows replacement), being resupplied by drone or UGV. These lone guys you see are often either making their way to frontline position to relieve or replace someone, or leaving a front line position after been relieved. Ideally this is done at night, or when there is suitable weather cover, but sometimes thats just not possible.Occasionally they are the remnants of failed assaults.It's a real embarrassment for Russia that they have been reduced to fighting in this way.
