I am an American who decided I wanted money plus who was good at math classes broadly. I toiled and hammered away at the SAT, and the effort all payed off as soon as the results came in and they were extremely nice.I also didn't want to finally become an artist, drug dealer, cashier, or Bob the Builder. Not saying everyone who indeed does proves unhappy, it just felt the wrong outcome for me. I felt sorry for those who were of lesser intellect than me and were incapable of getting into the college I'd be interested in.My success was not just academic, but also moral. When peers snuck out, partied, and danced, I practiced an instrument, spoke a new language, and served the community. Last one heaviest of all; don't take me for some human robot! I maintained a moral framework and stuck to my principles even if those around me may shirk them.It was either CS or Finance, but one's lifestyle appealed over the other. After all: life is worth more than just simply money, isn't it? If you roughly toil at your post too much throughout the day, when, and how heavily, can you explore the world outside of it?And so I went into the college grind. I am not some superman so I will tell the truth: things did get a little hard here. But I strove hard to overcome, and the sun shone brighter on the horizon I would eventually achieve. It almost feels like I did everything realistically right, basically. So why the FUCK can't I be landing a job despite month after month, even amounting to the scope of YEARS, of toiling trouble at the job boards and interview preparation cycles? I do all the right stuff, not even just technical hustles, but also real-life discourse, early-hours application, resume tailoring, or diction and poise exercise.I am graduated without internships and am bound for a Masters. I know that would be honorable, yet to me it feels a crushing sensation. I am applying to interns and full-time positions, yet quite pitifully in yield or results.
You understand that Anthropic business model is making your CS degree worthless?CS has become no different from Studying philosophy or Liberal arts
>>541131536I am in same position, also have comp sci degree. I occasionally get interviews but not anything related to my degree. Then they just ghost me. I have a large degree of numbness, apathy, anhedonia at this point. It was a horrible thing what society pushed upon us back in the day, it was all a vile rugpull they knew what was coming.
>>541131536how much debt are you in?are you paying attention to the stock market/crypto?ai related stocks went on a tear this past yearmy advice is to put your knowledge to work outside of traditional employment pathseasier than it sounds, i knowit may seem like crypto is over, but it's actually going to come roaring back in the next yearthe legislation gap that's been missing is at the finish lineif you're smart and capable, just following the right people on x and getting into smaller more elite chats on discord and telegram can at least help pay the billsotherwise, consider a youtube channel (don't make the subject of the videos what a loser you are and how you can't get a job)good luck
I sort of feel empathy towards trannies now. Society is completely rife with mind trap poisonous lies intentionally set up to destroy people. It is everywhere you turn. In my case I fell for comp sci degree, but in some other circumstance maybe I could have fallen for a different lie. Who knows. The only way forward is to build something and then work from there. It does seem like at a lot of what is going on in the job market though, it is basically HR women just locking men out of any kind of life that is anything resembling good. That is the overarching position: they get all the comfy jobs, then men are forced to just be grunt slaves that destroy their bodies.
>>541134696as someone who lost his job in the woke culling: this is absolutely truein the modern workforce women can do no wrong while men have to walk on eggshellsthe women have been propagandized to to believe that ganging up on a man and getting him fired is righteous
>>541131536CS is over. If you graduated in the last 3 years, you honestly should have seen the writing on the wall and changed your major. The real victims of the rugpull are devs between 30 and 40. Basically wasted the prime of our lives on this shit, now the jobs, quality of life, and salary are vanishing rapidly. If you're under 30, you're still young and healthy enough to find a new hustle.
>>541131536Because of Indian Hindu rape rats, and the jews who imported them. See this picture taken at Intuit's new hires day, an "American" company. It might as well be any tech company because they all look like a Hindu gang rape mob.
Just go i to finance retard. If you still know how to do math shit is useful.Unless you forgot how to do math then you are fucked
>>541131536Why is your grammar so incorrect?
>>541135100Ah yes, the 2 billion Indian Hindu rape rat hordes definitely won't follow us into every other white collar job after tech collapses and repeat the destruction they did in tech. Good plan.
>>541133624When I was looking into what to study during college, those two I felt were "guaranteed unemployment".>>541134173And aren't we bitter about it?! It almost feels like I am rolling down an express train with no stations to dismount at. I often hear to start small and humble your expectations, but ridiculously many of the applications I launch for which I receive failures are in fact for the homeliest corporations in the most provincial of metropoles.>>541134415I don't play around with crypto. When (or if I were to) attain my initial starter job that gets my ball rolling, I'm not stupid enough to let it sit around as cash, but nor edgy enough to let it rip into the stock of the day either, losing all my earnings plus more. I'll just shunt it into a high-yield mutual fund.>>541134696I do debate myself internally over how much of this is the product of DEI or such. The philosophy I grew older believing was in fact an argument against the aforementioned humanities study or professionality because "history, literature or social sciences can be swayed by partisan motives, yet STEM holds steadfast and you can't politically debate science or numbers". Yet the ringmasters who seem to be in charge of the CS moat and bailey appear to be not LGBT folk or even Blacks, but Indians.>>541134791Were you in tech or elsewhere? If you worked at a school, a theater, a museum, or even many corporations it is understandable in my eyes, though not that it's alright.
>>541131536i had to read your OP post three to four times until i could even piece together what you were sayingthat is also my fault, because i wasnt paying full attentionbut maybe that'll help you
>>541134921Hmm, perhaps your advice could've been of use if I had heeded you 3 or even 2 years ago, but unfortunately now it is too late. I hold the diploma, and my student badge no longer grants me access and is just a piece of plastic.I just don't know. The pitiful Masters I mentioned is already lined up, and it is CS. Maybe I could change there, but it seems unlikely.Even if things were to change, I doubt I'd know what to change it to. Nursing sounds disgusting and I'd feel like a Filipino femboy maid every day, which would be so degrading.
>>541135262I understand you are being hyperbolic but I'm trying to give you genuine advice. If you have a CS background and you are genuinely good at mathematics and understanding how numbers work, you should seriously consider working at a financial institution just so that you can secure a fucking income.I am assuming you are not overplaying your knowledge and ability with math, however yes I do understand your fear because you will be asked to compete with high-level mathematic people of Chinese and Indian descent which can be incredibly daunting especially as a white.
>>541135262Well fortunately, Better.com does not seem to be in business much longer. I examined levels.fyi and the business appears to be defunct. You would think Google, to name but one of multiple, would take the hint. And yet, the Sundar marches on, brown and brawn, rejecting of three things: meat, quality, or the "anti-evil" spirit that's long permeated the firm's culture yet is almost entirely evaporated.Frankly it is not the ethnicity itself that wears me out, but more the way of life and bad habits. If Sundar Pichai were an all American football player who wolfed down meat without a care, then dated and kissed a cheerleader at high school homecoming, and eventually went on to be a fun guy at frat parties at a southern school known more for its tailgating and sororities than academic rigor or long-held tradition, then there wouldn't be nearly half the predicament!

Except who in America would shack up with a CS major who isn't particularly either tall or athletic, and who struggles to find any employment but a steakhouse?Where is sex gonna happen? One room away from mom and dad? I wanna get freaky but unfortunately because of how inanely expensive apartments are everywhere, freakiness proves a de facto luxury. And how do I overcome the embarrassment and shame of getting mom and dad to vet the girl I pine for? That alone constrains my dating pool in ridiculous ways.Even Chris Chan and Elliot Roger have had their own places to themselves despite being largely deemed unemployed (or most generously in definition, living off of gig economies). Probably because they both came of age well before me and COVID, I think.

And why the lamentable cope instead of, you know, actually solving your own problems or not calling the kettle black? These American dogs will get what they're coming for in all due time, and their eyes and ears, buried in sand and oblivious to all common sense anywhere and from any origin point, will not believe it once their position and respect on the so-called "international" stage plummets as they are cut off from the belt and road that connects and empowers the people of the world.Think about how irrelevant Germany and Japan are today compared to their national heydeys of fore, and especially their national ambitions. All puppets now. Marionettes. Pupinias dangling from strings, unable to move without the jerking motion of a hand.If I were you I'd wise up, but Americans never seem to. Sadly, the offer never appeared and they ended up rejecting me, and the news made me cry so badly I threw a chair down some stairs and pissed off my white dog roommates.>>541136592I don't understand your standards to the maximum, yet 60/hr would honestly be a miracle compared to my available pool of funding right now. And said pool is rather greasy, giggly, or squatty, or a combination to put it lightly, and not something to be proud of if your profession and vocation may lay in development and technology. It makes me feel like the prodigal son who could only find work rearing pigs.If I could afford independence on such a wage, though, I'd gladly accept the vocation with little complaints. As it stands however some wages are just not meant to be lived on.I know it isn't much but it's better, and gives me a bit better leverage, than munching off of both my parents. And I know I still live with them and that it's tricky to change that given current circumstances, but maybe one day. But now I'm feeling like Christian communities who take sincere - sometimes even to the streets - the belief that Christ will return, chiefly within their lifespans.
