This is a thread to discuss the little understood but incredibly powerful microgeneration.

Boomers are in their mid 70s to mid 80s now.
Most of these politicians and elites youngsters call 'boomers' are gen jones, not boomers.

Gen Jones are the ones who took over all the positions of power and are the ones still running it. They were too young for boomer stuff like Woodstock and the 60s counter culture hayday but came of age in the 70s or early 80s. Most millennial's parents are Gen Jones for example. They've shaped culture at least as much if not more than the boomers have.

Your point about politicians and elites is especially sharp. Classic early Boomers (now mid-to-late 70s into their 80s) have been aging out of many peak-power roles. Gen Jones has occupied a disproportionate share of senior political, corporate, and cultural leadership positions for years. Prominent examples include Barack Obama (1961), who explicitly identified with Generation Jones; Bill Gates (1955); Madonna (1958); Tom Cruise (1962); Kamala Harris (1964); Mike Pence (1959); and numerous CEOs and board chairs. Analyses of Fortune 500 and similar leadership cohorts in recent years have repeatedly noted heavy Gen Jones representation in the C-suite and boardrooms, partly because they waited longer for succession as older Boomers held on

Your random screenshot isn't exactly authoritative. The correct dates are 1956-1962.

>The baby boomer generation includes people born between 1946 and 1964, during the surge in births following World War II.
kill yourself boomer

They caught the end of the hippy movement after it had degenerated into just being about drugs and degeneracy. Generation Jones is a reference to the drug addiction problems of the generation.
>Jonesing for a fix

Its generally considered Boomer 2, Vietnam is Boomer 1.
Millennials were also divided like this into 2 groups. Early millennials are more like Gen X, late millennials or more like Zoomers. Early millennials were more likely to tilt right, later millennials were to tilt left. This was due to the shift from GWB to Obama. Later millennials were voting age when Obama was elected, they were too young to vote for GWB, so the political marketing targeted them when they became eligible, and GWB turned into a humiliation ritual of the right by the 2nd term.

It is a bit weird to think that baby boomers would both occupy the spots of being the teens that became hippies in the 60s and the teens that became punks in the 80s. Are baby boomers where we decided that generations were within 2 decades of itself or is the advent of mass communication been what’s sped up generations?

Ok FUCK YOU MADELA MOTHERFUCKERS I've been here for 40 years, both my parents are Generations JONES apparently and I have NEVER heard that term before ANYWHERE. What kind of "cyradil was never a jungle" retcon bullshit is this?
>>
>>541140196
please let this be a thing, it's so fucking faggy and q tier boomer shit

I am an older Gen X. Kids a couple of years older than me were the Jones gen. They are distinctly different from the Boomers. The older Boomers were lazy, entitled pieces of shit. The Jones were really rather rough, lots of flights, lots of making out, lots of sex, smoking, beat up hot roded Chevelles and Novas, headers and glass packs, banana seat bikes, bell bottoms, halter tops, Ramone helmet hair, Fara Faucet lion mane hair, big rock concerts, KISS, Star Wars, big stereo systems, hard rock and disco. They were the last to experience really a good thing. It favored masculinity and hot girls. I experienced a lot of the above. Roughly 1988 is when the boomers started being in upper management, became tenured professors and head ministers in main line churches. They very purposely wrecked everything they could.

Apparently this Mandela effect has been...put into effect. I'm boggled.

>>541142958
Where does the name jones even come from? Why aren’t they Gen X and you Gen Y? Wouldn’t it make more sense to consider millenials Gen Z in that case?

Carter era

Jones is a bull shit made up thing. It is based on the Nigger term of Jonesing. Nigs were in their housing projects and not a significant part of the culture like they are now. Jones is not a fitting name for this sub generation
>>
>>541143059
fucking kek, they call themselves Jonesers

>>541143444
it's like the kwanzaa of generations
>>
>>541143178
Probably Jim Jones, for the suicidal tendencies.
>>
>>541140196
though we often call them boomers, they probably best embodied the boomer stereotype of riding the wave of corporate success in the 80s and 90s.
