The problem is both tribes view their own policy as dogma rather than tools for specific jobs. When taken to the extreme supply side stimulus leads to hoarding of real assets rather than investments in production capacity because the lack of demand caused by neglect for the consumer side makes investing in capacity unnecessary and an inefficient use of funds and this problem expounds upon itself which is why the majority is either poor or getting poorer and yet the stock market goes up. If you don't care about a healthy economy or the majority of your people doing better and are only concerned about the value of your investments then none of this matters and continued supply side is great but functionally it would be better if stimulative policies addressed the actual needs of the greater economy and the health of the nation, alternating where necessary to promote the general welfare of the people and development of domestic infrastructure and production capacity, or we could simply divorce ourselves from the financialized debt based economic model but that would mean dealing with more intense booms and busts.
