Seems to me that rich people (the US ones, people tend to flaunt wealth here more than in the US) just tend to buy whatever they want, and that isn’t necessarily your average grocery-getter. I’m not sure where the grocery-getter meme comes from when rich people tend to own normal vehicles from luxury brands pretty regularly. >>541183506You know there is a big difference between a hardwood forest being cut at some point in the last 200 years and having enough intact extant forest that it can restart the process of repopulating itself vs completely leveling so much of the woodlands that it cannot even repropgate itself- like the Netherlands, or the UK etc.? I mean look, a mixed hardwood forest if cut, can take (my guess) like 200-500 years to get back to original post Ice Age equilibrium... at least- but clearing so much of it that the nearest extant populations are so far away that normal propagation cannot even happen in most places- this is a categorical difference. Now, alpine etc places like out west where most areas only have like 15 native tree species- mostly softwoods- are not as much of a concern, but most of western europe would have been massive mixed hardwood landscapes that have indeed been decimated to the point of nearly being irrecoverable. I mean forget old growth we are talking about ANY growth. There is a reason in much of western europe why they name their forests " the ____ Wood" or the " ____ Forest" etc. because they are reduced to such pockets that they CAN be named invididually. You want to depress yourself go look around on Google Maps at the Netherlands or UK.
