Narcissism is a common result of emotional neglect as a child. Daddy isn't there. Mama leaves you at Grandmama's house so she can go out partying. Grandmama didn't care about her own kids either. The only time an adult acknowledges your existence is to bitch you out or hit you. There's no such thing as a compliment or encouragement. And so you create your own reality to protect yourself. A world where you don't need positive reinforcement. What needs to be reinforced? You're already great. Nobody can bring you down because "they ain't shit." And if they do manage to make you feel bad? You hurt them. That will teach them. Who needs school? Who needs to expand their horizons and travel and learn about other people?
