It's gotten so bad there and insurance companies are taking the piss so hard, that at this point they'd be better off doing a single payer system and just letting the chips fall where they may. These massive companies are practically extortionate, extract huge sums of value while providing very little in return. Then they can have private hospitals and the like to pick up the slack, but promise you in a generation you'd have these companies bribing politicians to cut public health spending and close hospitals/make buying shitty coverage mandatory anyway.
