But I just wanted to vent on this before I went to bed. The case of James Jobson was a miscarriage of justice:1. The police arrested him despite him having no connection to the account posting details.2. The police used the fact he was silent in his police interrogation as evidence he must be him. Assuming he kept quiet to protect himself rather than to protect his rights.3. Despite the scant evidence, the CPS agreed to charge him. There's no way this case met their evidentiary test.4. The police chose to remand him, unlike the numerous repeat offenders and violent offenders they release regularly. The CPS then argued for remand in court and the spineless judge agreed to this. No doubt his own defence acted more like a risk manager and likely didn't raise an objection; telling him to rot in prison in the meantime, suffering punishment before conviction, and that he'll prepare a bail hearing for a later date. As if prison is a minor inconvenience to the sobbing man. He's been in prison since 17/8/2026.5. The BBC then, ironically, released the street he lives on ("standard practice").6. While the police claimed they continued to investigate the case after he was remanded, they failed to reveal it was the Eastern Daily Press that pointed out the bleeding obvious that the account leaking these details was still active, and it outright said they had no connection to Jobson. It was this evidence that made the difference and no effort on behalf of the police.7. Despite the case then being dropped, Jobson is still in prison until at least 24/08/2026 because of difficulty processing paperwork.The police, CPS and judiciary got the adulation they were seeking, though. Plebbit was, of course, cheering on his incarceration and hoping that he'd drop the soap.
