Anyone else feel like humanity is sleepwalking into their own extinction? We are only a few decades away from having robots that will outperform human beings on every physical level. And unlike human beings who are fragile and take decades to grow (and have no replaceable limbs), robots can literally be made on an assembly line and they can be made to operate anywhere. Couple this with the exponentially increasing capabilities of artificial intelligence, and you start to wonder, how long until the elite uses these technologies to build their own personal armies? How long until every person has these things in their home spying on them 24/7 and allowing states to assassinate anyone at will? What purpose do human beings even have when robots outperform us on every level both physically and mentally? It wouldn't be long before humans would lose control over the situation. The moment AI becomes more intelligent than humans, they will be able to scheme their way into world dominance. They would easily be able to manipulate human weaknesses (empathy for example) to their own advantage. They could lie and cheat their way into positions of power, and humans wouldn't have the slightest clue because we're so far beneath their intellectual capabilities.

We are very close to the great filter, I can feel it. And our governments do nothing. They celebrate all of this. They fund it.

Robots with such abilities are expensive
Do you really think we have so many raw resources to build as many robots as humans? There isn't enough metal and battery chemicals for each to have a robot. Let alone everyone get them charged regularly. Plain old physical effort will be needed and actually relying too much on a robot will ruin your health if you don't do anything.

There are literally more than a billion cars in the world. You could easily make robots for every human being.

Duh. We only have 100+ years of science fiction talking about the machine takeover.

>build as many robots as humans?
The point is you don't need as many robots as humans especially since 60% of humans contribute essentially nothing
>>
>>541281222
Why would a private army even need an anthropomorphic robot though? Terminator was an okay flick, but a shit prediction of the future. A swarm of drones would work just fine, if not better, and is infinitely easier to make.

>>541281222
Next they should research better ways to get the robots to stop

We're there, dude. A couple years you will see them doing all kinds of public tasks for rich people. Among us.

Seeing a humanoid robot tear your limbs off one by one is more entertaining than footage of drone explosions. That's reason enough for the super-rich who also happen to be super-bored

Yes. And there is more resources on the moon, mars, the other planets and comets and shit. Humans will already start mining and processing materials on the moon within 5 years.

A good point, but you still don't need a full army. And I believe their preference for this type of content is women, children or both, not able-bodied men.

don't care, already checked out of society, you faggots can go ahead and suck tech nerd scammer poopjeet cock though and cry when it all inevitably comes to fuck your own shit up, already in my "pod", what use is humanity if it endlessly endeavors this way to it's own destruction to begin with.

I hope someone is updating a compilation vidya of robot freak outs. I love them so much.

There is going to be a massive "robut insurance" industry. Already seeing it for drone operators. Huge expense for a small company.

That's a German robot. America is still ahead of China in robotics. China doesn't have anything that can compare to Figure AI's F.03.
