Are we great again?

>The Federal Communications Commission last week eliminated the gigabit speed goal established during the Biden administration and declared that current levels of broadband deployment in the US are acceptable. Though fiber networks have routinely offered such speeds for years, the FCC said the gigabit speed goal is not “technologically neutral,” suggesting that it isn’t fair to other, slower technologies.

kek I loved this one. They claimed it was "unfair to other technologies". Which if you read between the lines it's a toss up for Starlink.
Remember kids. if you're rich enough you CAN buy the government's favors!
>>
You know what's funny, a lot of these older boomers who get THE GIGABIT INTERNET forget their old as shit computers they never upgraded still have 10/100 network adapters. None of them even care or notice.

Some retard goycattle mom of 4 kids wanted high speed fiber installed and ended up asking AI why her kids were still lagging in fortnite, the AI told them their wifi was still on 4 or some shit and she unironically complained like a dumb angry heifer at the store and had printed out the AI responses on a piece of paper lmao

Impossible!

Increasing household bandwidth will also hasten the move to centralize computing power. Everything your computer now does at home will become a paid service. Of course, anything you hope to produce will be both monitored and limited. I can't imagine why the FCC would be against this.
>>
>>541289301
You fuckers deserve every complaint you receive x1000. But also, thanks for keeping my network running.
>>
>>541288664
Boomers only had 2400 baud internet
fax machines were 9600 baud
literally faster to fax, than to email

and somehow they bought houses
if they could do well with 2kbps
then there's no need for anything faster

Gigabit internet (1,000,000,000 bits per second) is roughly 416,667 times faster than a classic 2400 baud (2,400 bits per second) dial-up modem.
>>
>>541289141
nothing to do with starlink
starlink is gigabit

they mean cars

Gigabit internet is 416,667 times faster than what boomers had in the 1990s

in the 80s cars could only go 55mph
so we need cars that can go 22,916,685mph

we can greatly increase highway speeds
by having less cars on the road and limiting access. $50 per gallon of gas will help a lot

Interstates are more important than internet
we need to focus more tech on transportation
>>
>>541290297
water is another area that has fallen behind
A standard residential city water meter (typically 5/8-inch by 3/4-inch) delivers a continuous flow capacity of about 360 to 720 gallons per hour (6 to 12 gallons per minute)
this just wont do
every house should be able to get at least 200 gallons per minute

focus on more important things than porn
>>
healthcare is more important than internet

Every single hour, approximately 17,708 patients enter a U.S. hospital emergency department, while a continuous baseline of roughly 33,333 inpatients occupy hospital beds across the country. When factoring in outpatient appointments, surgeries, and labs, the total flow across all U.S. hospital facilities easily exceeds 50,000 to 100,000 patient encounters per hour during peak daytime operating blocks.

we need to up this by 400% at least

People still go online with XP and 7 PCs, using special browsers. It's the browser that limits you, due to HTML5 and other modern bullshit.

we'll need gigabit internet in the near future
due to home-schooling
New AI teachers will make Ms Crabapples obsolete.
Students will be able to complete K-PhD in as little as 7 weeks. Gen-Beta kids will be performing surgery when they are 10
and there will be affordable healthcare for everyone

First is US and allies of the US. Capitalist democracies in NATO, more or less. Second was the Soviet Union and its communist allies like China and North Korea. Third World is non-aligned countries. Mostly poor countries, but neutral countries like Switzerland are here too.

Not sure what you faggots are so outraged about. This is very probably just changing the definition of some check-box people fill out to get grant money for bullshit municipal rural broadband buildouts.
If you "Need" 2.5G to stream your blacked.com in 8K 120hz nobody is trying to take that away from you.

when i was younger i lived on the opposite side of the river from the closest town. by boat it was just a few minutes. by car it was hours from anything
there were no plans to put in bridges roads or utilities. I had only solar and wind ran the well for water.
a friend on the other side of the river, had a dock, that's where I parked the boat when I went to town. He had cable internet.
Cable company said they wouldn't run cable to my house, same as the electric company.
so close yet so far

so I had to figure out how to get internet to my house all on my own.

Thought about undersea cable but that was costly. Did more research, and found laser modulation. Built a pair of laser modems, and beamed internet across the river from my friend's house to mine. Had more bandwidth than I needed for just internet, so I also beamed a cable tv across the river. It wasn't pirated, I paid for an additional room at my friend's house, we just didn't tell them that the additional room was on the other side of the river.
Had some outages when it was foggy, and the lasers burned out from time to time, but it worked great.
