>no buccees
>no walmarts
why is this allowed?
>>
>>541302029
where do you even park??
>>
>>541302077
You're looking at a park
>>
>>541302029
you need to manage those forests. start logging them immediately!
>>
>>541302029
that we be much nicer if there was barking 24/7 and plastic bags of feces everywhere
>>
>>541302029
It's very funny that people make trailer jokes, because they were banned in the 90s and you see the 40 year old ones hanging around because they are grandfathered in

just by the side of the road
the WV government is incompetent and malicious and rarely provides good parking at the best views
I parked on the highway and put my flashers on, but I could have had more room on the other side of the highway

>>541302181
oh they are, on the other side of this photo, this is facing north, facing south is getting logged and strip mined

this is what it looks like after "selective cutting"

>>541302205
there's more cheap old timber houses here than trailers but it does vary depending on where you go
>>
>>541302432
is selective cutting a euphemism for high grading (taking out all the best quality trees and leaving the rest)?
>>
>>541302569
yes, from what they said, they claim taking only the mature trees allows animals to gain new habitat and the trees would fall over anyways lol
which is what they did always, but even more so (sometimes you will see huge old trees that exist because they have two trunks branching or were tiny when the logging boom happened)

Imagine the ticks
>>
Okay so if bucees really has 150 toilets can you hear a dude grunting in pain 20 stalls down
>>
Trees don't increase the GDP.
>>
>>541305283
people say that but I've almost never encountered them here even in tall grass maybe they just don't like me
I got a couple at lilley cornett woods and the tour guide was like, ur gonna get them here, and I think I had a nymph once, and I got a tick hiking to fall creek falls in tn that I didn't notice for a few days and it left a mark that took a year to disappear

>>541305424
they do if they bring in visitors, or even if they just keep the locals happy and entertained
>>
>>541302029
needs to be immediately napalmed and turned into a gigantic shopping center once everything has burned away.
>>
>>541305936
well funny you should say that, so almost everything in that picture has been clearcut logged from ~ 1880-1920 or so
and a consequence of doing that was, they left behind the wood scraps and a lot of sawdust, and the railroads would ignite the wood and most of the land, to my understanding, burned at some point post logging because the fire risk is so much higher, and it really damaged the soil ecosystem which is full of bacteria and fungi, and so the plants that grew back are different, when you see old growth its very different the understory is less crowded (usually)

I think the nearest mall is in summersville, or over in the new river gorge area

It needs more eucalyptus to keep it healthy.

Legit knowing people who Simp for Bucceees and eat their actual meals there is the biggest fucking disgrace of my life. And that includes my 2 inch pencil dick my inbreeding southern relatives gave me to pole ran thru whites after their football player center line gets tired of their shit
>>
>>541302029
This looks like the perfect spot for Larry Ellison to build another datacenter, please post coordinates
>>
>>541310745
its like maybe a mile south of the red spruce knob trailhead on highway 150, highland scenic highway, wv, I've driven past this view a bunch but never stopped to get a photo cuz there's nowhere to easily pull over and its not a marked overlook

>>541310013
I hate the smell of that and unfortunately it's a popular essential oil in yoga classes.
>>
>>541302029
that's where the mothman lives, try to build there and he'll pick you off one by one.
>>
oy vey we need to import 4 million indians and africans to improve the GDP of that area
>>
>>541310870
he seems to not mind the loggers or strip miners
>>
>>541302029
Are there ratbirds?
>>
>>541302029
Because unbroken nature makes my pp hard.
>>
>>541302029
>Recognize photo.
You are one of those rich fuckers who bike on the trail during the summer for fun, aren't you.
>>
>>541312417
>unbroken
it's heavily logged, actually all the dead trees kinda mar the landscape from afar
I've never seen old growth, like an entire hill of old growth that you can see from far away, I wonder if it would look different
it's unbroken green because they already stole all the coal and trees they could before selling it to the government
>>
>>541312618
there's no way you recognize that photo
I'm gonna bike on the greenbrier river trail, but nah never biked on highland scenic highway, saw one woman biking on 39 closer to richwood, she was sloooooooow and it was like downhill

>rich
I would have a driver then
>>
>>541302029
seriously what the fuck is buccees and why are people acting like it existed before this year?
>>
>>541312715
giga-gas stations basically that only exist in high traffic areas
>>
>>541312800
it sounds based but i had never heard that name before a few months ago when all of a sudden there were eurotrash at the world cup fulfilling their lifelong dreams of visiting a buccees. i'm gonna blame viral marketing
>>
>>541312871
I saw it driving into the smoky mountains, it makes sense when you have huge tourist traps to have a big gas station, its just a gas station with 3-4x the usual number of pumps, and a larger inside filled with the same chinese crap as anywhere else

honestly 4chan memed it to me before I ever saw one irl in like 2024
>>
>>541302029
>allowed
Allowed? That looks like the Appalachians, probably West Virginia or thereabouts
Which means the economy is so bad since it was entirely reliant on coal, which has been largely mechanized/artificially depressed, and therefore they don't have any fucking money to afford shopping at a bunch of stores
But this is the next eventual frontier for urbanization. It's just going to take a little time since they're still doing it to various other regions currently
