if you ever actually had a real job your first question would have been are those wages from a fri/sat/sun or a mon/tues/wed shift. likely tho you are too ugly for a public facing job which is saying a lot considering how much that homely gook in picrel makes

I've been trying to tell you niggers for years. Below average middle aged male servers make more from tips alone than you know. Let alone women let alone attractive young women. None of them need your tips but young women especially don't. If your conception of budgeting is anything other than what your accountant is telling you you can run up on your credit card for the month and that figure isn't in the tens of thousands of dollars, you aren't wealthy enough to be concerning yourself with tipping. There's a high chance your server is clearing more a year than you are. Remember that.

>Restaurants can legally add mandatory tips—commonly called automatic gratuities or service charges—to guest checks, usually for large parties (such as six or more people) or special events. Because these amounts are printed directly onto the bill by the establishment, they function as required fees rather than voluntary gratuities

The fees have to be upfront. Yes they can hide them in tiny font in the menu. If it's not advertised they must remove it when asked.

Why does some random foreigner think he knows fuckall about America?

https://www.webstaurantstore.com/blog/4328/automatic-gratuity-law.html?srsltid=AfmBOopvqEq0Wii_FxyzAppsYf2ehmbpEUY293phQEEN9axOR6arwdJL

>Yes, automatic gratuity is legal. Laws instated by the IRS rule that automatic gratuity is a service charge, and no legislation prohibits this practice.

>No. Customers cannot refuse to pay automatic gratuity since the payment is a service charge. Tips are optional and freely given by customers, but charges on the receipt from the restaurant itself are mandatory fees. Not paying the automatic gratuity is the same as not paying for the food.

you do realize restaurants in north america will do anything unless they get caught
The place i was an exec chef of added autograts for anything over 8 tops at 16% and we got away with it for years
restaurants break so many laws so hidden costs or anything else isn't farfetch'd
