Even on pol you see the same attitude from Americans. They actually take pride in being ignorant of the rest of the world. It's easy to laugh at them but we must remember they have a lot of power, and you have to respect it. It's like recognizing the danger of a monkey with a machinegun. It's extremely dangerous, but there's little thought going into it.
