How do Australians deal with their property prices? For example, Dogs in Space (the INXS movie from 1986) takes place in a cheap, low-rent flophouse in Richmond (next to Melbourne). Apparently, that area was quite cheap back then. That same flophouse today is worth over $2 million. It sold for over a million even back in 2012. How did this happen? How do normie/younger/wagie Australians deal with this?

Homes are cheap unless you're a poofter who insists on living in shitney or smellbourne
>>541319951Spend more than half your income on rent and mortgage. It's really my own fault for being born a decade or two too late.
>>541319951Doesn't stuff like this happen because the economy is doing too well and everybody has so much liquid cash at hand and they all run to buy up real estate? I suggest the Aussie government teach their populace about infrastructure bonds and stock options. Alternatively, they could invest their money into a high trust 3rd world country like Namibia.
>>541320944and at that time prices in better parts of l.a.. ny and other megacities you got there were?places changes, that place tons of 'cheap' and sometimes really cheap high quality stores for clothing et all + bunch of good restaurants + close to expensive suburbs + you get to the city within minutes (if no traffic that is)

>>541319951> How do Australians deal with their property pricesI work from home in a normie job, get paid $600k a year - 2mil for a house is cheap.

>>541322235>stocks and bonds>money for nothingjewish bullshit that doesn't make sense>investment property>money from the pov cunt living in the thing I boughtin spite of how clever we are, we're simple people
>>541322235government snuck through a ridiculous tax grab under the guise of "lowering house prices" it did the exact opposite because theyre fucking over everyone who invests in anything else with significantly higher taxes so the only sensible thing to invest in is a house to live in
Americans probably can't fathom this but there's a real economy and a capitol economy. The real value of properties hasn't shifted a cent, the kapitol value has just ballooned with inflation, as have all commodities and assets. So the real question of how Australians deal with the price of food, fuel, gas, electricity, going through the roof. We've suffered the worst recession of all OECD counties where commodity balance wasn't the cause (iceland). Things here are really fucking bad.
