There was several gigantic oil shocks in the 1970s and US produced from 90s till 2005 it seemed like the US would be forever an Oil Importer. Then the shale boom happened and the US became a gigantic Oil and Gas exporter. Oil consumption also pretty much plateaued at around 2003 levels. Europe and Japan/Korea are now the primary oil importers and Europe mostly importing from The US, Norway, Russia, Khazastan, Libiya and Nigeria. Very little Oil to europe comes from the middle east. Japan, India, Korea and China are now the Middle easter tops importers by a very large margin. Theres also the entire SEA region. So why the fuck is the US in the middle east defending whos exactly oil? I know they sell a lot of weapons to the middle east but they'd still buy them anyway if they wanted the top stuff. Like honestly except for Israel the US seem to be at a gigantic net negative in the middle east and for no visible or apparent reason. It's not like if China invades Taiwan they can tell Saudi Arabia not to sell to China they still will they're not going to cut of 30% of their income.
