This. And fusion is worse because the infrastructure to make it worse is vastly more complicated, even if it's more efficient and technically unlimited.

We either go back to hands and horses, riding through the wasteland never to build technology again, or we exploit fusion, solar, and space resources until those run out too.
>>
>>541344362
Cold fusion has literally been done hundreds of times in laboratory environments, the most reliable way is swapping electrons for muons.
The problem with this approach, and all other approaches which have any chance of working, is that the process takes more energy than is generated.

There will never be net energy positive cold fusion using muons mainly due to their short half-life.

It's actually even worse.
Oil is abiotic, yes, but it takes time to replenish. We are depleting it faster than it can recover, and removing the lubrication from the tectonic plates.
This is leading to an increase in earthquakes over 7.0 magnitude.
There's another big one coming soon and they know it.

As we 'run out' of fossil fuels (which will take 100 years), the world will descend into famine and mass migrations and wars. We will wake up in 100 years with population of 1 billion and life very much more basic than now, with a significant portion of the population engaged in farming and manual labour. There is a setup in Kentucky I think or maybe Kansas where they are drilling 36” holes a mile or so deep and putting self contained fusion reactors down there. The steam comes back up the pipes. Theoretically you could have an entire field. Takes a lot of the environmental concern regarding heat etc away from the equation and adds some geological complexity, but we already deal with that for fossil fuels. Looks promising but always 10 years away. At any rate there are some creative prospects out there and it falls firmly in “solvable problem” territory IMO

Fusion is still too energy inefficient and cold fusion does not even have the physics of it figured out yet.
What we do have is ever increasingly miniaturized and cleaner fission, no portable reactors but you may see ones the size of a substation powering entire towns.
There is also beamed solar power, giant solar arrays in space that send it all back down using microwaves that make a special material heat up a lot and boil water
>>

If they ever get fusion to work it will have exactly the same problem as fission. That it works.

The term fossil fuel is a scam term, coined by jews. Oil is as infinite as water. They are literally rivers of that shit running through underground, connecting this world with other realms beyond the ice wall. Oil wells replenishes constantly. Old dried wells all regained their oil flow. The final argument is today we have more “discovered” oil patches than ever before in history, even Saudi Arabia keeps on finding “new fields”. By your reasoning, we should have less new discoveries and proven dried wells.
We got still a lot of oil to be exploited, it’s the jews that keep the prices high so that the golem keeps on getting impoverished while the they get rich from it.
>>
>>541346312
If you look at the earth like a machine, is a machine that generates friction more functional with or without lubrication?
>>
>>541346016
There’s a depth at which you’d need a barrel of oil’s worth of energy to extract a barrel of oil.
>>
>>541347304

>>
>>541346016
>>541346398
>>541347304
You only need to find the places where the underground oil river flows at reasonable depth. There are several underground streams around the world. Saudi Arabia being a major one, it literally flows like an underground river of oil there.
>>
>>541348006
I realized this when trying to explain hydrogen fuel cells vs LPG tanks in cars to literally anyone. It depressed me.
>>
>>541348222
Natural gas and propane and other light hydrocarbon gases are essentially safer storage mediums for hydrogen, since the hydrogen atoms on hydrocarbons are able to bond with oxygen in combustion to produce energy(producing water along with CO and CO2)
Hydrogen is so unstable and easily leaks through most usable materials due to its tiny nucleus that it's not really even usable in vehicles. The Hindenburg had to be painted in metallic paint resin to prevent it from deflating. Hilarity/oh-the-humanity ensued due to this.
>>
>>541348628
You know hydrogen is bad because even in 40 million dollar space launch vehicles assembled to the most stringent tolerances, using hydrogen as a fuel produces significant problems and routinely has leaks which delay flight. If it's that bad in those conditions then using it in cars or some shit is laughable.
>>
>>541349013
It's just too light, and especuially too hard to contain, and physics makes this an unsolvable problem. We cannot make the H atom large enough to safely contain. It will always find a way to leak out of the smallest opening. YES you can use metal and other materials, but the H will just leak from joints somewhere because it can just pass through even the tightest joint.
>>
>>541345818
>so you think a geological process occurring over tens to hundreds of millions of years is going to replace oil fast enough for us to keep the lights on?
it's a fact that's already happened.

They're basically the same thing and the industry can use existing infrastructure as-is.

No such thing as 'fossil fuel' That is a myth made up to make us think oil is scarce so they can charge more for it. Oil will never run out.
>>
>>541350541
as others and myself have pointed out, it doesn't need to "run out", but it will eventually become too expensive to get out of the ground. the more accessible oil fields aren't always going to be around. the human boom since the industrial revolution is entirely reliant on cheap oil. oil won't always be cheap.
>>
>>541349902
green/electric can't really replace what oil does and that is the entire problem. the uses for oil goes well beyond just electricity. we can actually make oil from coal itself but the energy required to produce it makes it not worthwhile.
>>
>>541350446
it's intriguing with astronomers. there are competing theories on how long the universe will last - the prevailing one (forever) is being challenged by other theories based on the newly discovered dark energy/matter. these models have it ending in a matter of a few dozen billion years from now. far longer than humans will be around for sure but things change all the time.

Chinese have nuclear power and solar panels. They can run out of oil and still function as a society. Oil derivative products like plastic can be produced using energy as an input rather than digging it out of the ground.

Modern society can continue to exist so long as it can build solar panels and nuclear reactors.

Running out of oil isn't a problem if your society isn't run, managed, and populated, by absolute drooling fucking retards like every White society seems to be now. I struggle to understand why climate change is such a politically emotive subject. The climate is changing, and it might be down to CO2 emissions. The government don't need an excuse to extract more wealth from us, because they take what they want with impunity already.

Discounting that, it provides security to a country.

Energy independence means no more dealing with the middle east. No more endless wars for shekels, let Benny and the Arabs kill each other. The rest of the civilised world won't need the liquid Jew. An ontologically evil cabal wouldn't need to invent renewables when we already have oil and the need for oil to further an agenda.

We should use fossil fuels for now, but develop a long term exit strategy that secures our own energy needs that aren't subject to the whims of the desert people.

We all become NEET gods as modern slavery is built off oil and an artificial need for productivity, without it you're just relaxing 90% of your time and doing nothing in particular.
We coppice our local overgrown woods so when you need fuel you just go down there with a wagon / wheelbarrel and fill it in a couple minutes, put it in the shed to dry, and take out some older stuff.

Restaurants become the default like they used to be, as it was cheaper to go out to eat with someone's already warmed oven instead of using your own. For thousands of years it was actually cheaper to eat at some cheap public eatery, where they would run their ovens all day and expend almost no fuel for your order in particular.

nuclear and solar can't lubricate machinery or make plastics or all the other various industrial uses that oil is used for. oil is in literally everything, including the very solar panels and batteries that these green solutions use. if not directly, it is used in the manufacturing process somewhere.

why are these oil fields no longer in use if oil replenishes abiotically? this was in the early 1900s mind you. Oklahoma. Pennsylvania. many other states had good oil industries but no longer do. again, what proof is there at all of abiotic oil - that is relevant for human consumption?

oil deposits in the past were often fucked over and drilled ineptly, which made it not only infeasible to continue drilling, but likely left a lot of oil in there that wasn't recoverable at the time. nowadays people say this proves the abiotic oil hypothesis when in reality, the oil drillers were just retarded.

also, this retard needs to realize that even if this is possible, oil would have to be already at an extraordinary price for any sort of alternative "oil" to be made, which defeats the point. odds are, the price point of oil for this to work is so high that things would have collapsed well before the need arises to produce this alternative oil.

theres no fewer than 7,000 within 200 miles of my house dipshit, they just moved fields. also slant drilling is a thing now retard, if i want oil under your house i can eaisily drill for it 30 miles away

retarded american propaganda. prove these liquids come from fossils.
>>
>>541354654
permian oil has likely stagnated/peaked production wise but nice try. want to say the fields are getting larger or reflling anytime soon? nah. you know it's not true. abiotic oil is pure bullshit and makes no difference for human use even if it is since it's too slow.

Return to tradition.
I thought that's what you all wanted?

>What do we do once we run out of fossil fuels?
With or without them, we go extinct in about 250 years. Fertility rate collapse and second and third-order effects take over from there. The Amish can't even make nails, they aren't going to be able to survive without the rest of us. The African niggers sure aren't building their own million dollar John Deere tractors, they won't be able to feed themselves either (never mind manufacture the anti-AIDS pharmaceuticals that keep their continent alive). I wish I was wrong. I hope I still am wrong, somehow.

lol wut? we'll just go back to pre-industrial population levels. not extinct.

Gen Z is already dumber than their parents. This trend will likely accelerate as virtually every country with 100 average IQ or higher is well below replacement fertility. Even worse to divide these countries inside by IQ and typically see even worse breeding within high IQ groups. Global IQ will be drop by like 3-5 points a decade or more and is already happening. Gen Z is basically retarded and can't read, yet they'll be seen as geniuses pretty soon compared to future generations.

>lol wut? we'll just go back to pre-industrial population levels. not extinct.
Not how the math works, retard. If the fertility rate is below 2.1, populations shrink. The shrinking doesn't make the fertility rate go back up... perversely, it also makes them go down. It destroys the economy, which witless normies are constantly complaining is why they won't have children. When things fall apart so bad that modern medicine is gone... women start dying in childbirth, which wrecks the fertility rate even more quickly. If we were going to get the fertility rate back to normal, it's easier now than later when it's all a gigantic dumpsterfire.

The Earth is badly degraded, 1750 world had significant natural abundance, no pollution, no nuclear reactors melting down. We should expect even optimistically to go way lower than one billion.

The universe's greatest library ever built, and it's used to share cat pictures by illiterate imbeciles. I want to cry.

space travel is prohibitively expensive and will always be (unless we invent antigravity machines).
To make resource extraction trips to Titan ever viable you would need to be burning less fuel in flight there and back than you can carry on the return. In real life you can maybe return 0.2% of the initial fuel spent, minus hundreds of millions in rocket

Earth keeps recycling more, just like it does with water, but slower. We will never run out.

This thread alone makes me not hopeful for the human race. Just conspiracy "dey hiding the oil" and abiotic oil Soviet pseudo-science nonsense. Their brains are already fried and they already lack the ability to think critically. This is witch doctor levels of scientific thinking, my knowledge simply can't compete with their ignorance.

Why do we use oil for cars?
We have electric cars fueled by nuclear, and use of oil can be focused on things that have no replacement like plastics.
>>
>>541345249
Who said that oil will regenerate in the same fields? Especially when it is transported to and consumed in other places?

Climate change destroys a nation's energy independence. Germany demolished its nuclear power plants, and other countries like Greece were forced to shut down their coal power plants because of the climate change meme.

>We should expect even optimistically to go way lower than one billion.
If women have on average fewer than 2.1 kids per, then we know with certainty we will go all the way to zero. If you think that suddenly they'll all change their minds and want 9 in a deteriorating world that seems ever more incompatible with raising families, then it's not just math illiteracy that troubles you, but profound nigger-level mental retardation.
>>
Don't shoot this idea down immediately, hear me out first.

We could make whites reduce their birth rates and give up personal vehicles, but also import brown people to replace whites that were not born. This could buy us time with the climate and energy crises.

Nigga we can't say with certainly we won't self-destroy in the next 50 years and you are wondering about cosmic timescales.
Some jew faggot will make robots with guns for le automated defence that will eventually go berserk because nobody writes code since we have le claude bro and it 100% can be trusted bro. Another jew will attach le AI to nuclear response control for le immediate reaction.
We are in a race to the bottom.
>>
>>541355373
oil from coal is possible but it's not worth it. the entire point is that oil is 1) easily accessible and 2) cheap. if it isn't both of these, oil is pointless to use. and the problem is it won't be both of these one day and we have no alternatives to it. this won't be in our lifetimes but those that are alive then will be going through a very difficult time.
>>
>>541355234
it will go below a billion quite probably. for all of human history it was like this until the late 1800s. the human population boom - us - is the abnormal, and it will return to the norm eventually. so what?
