When did 4 chan go from being amused and entertained by Engrish and spelling mistakes to being fucking ENRAGED by it thinking it all the work of the ESL? Even in cases where's it's 99% certain to just be human error there's still a type of anon who will scream about ESLs as though the thought of someone communicating to them imperfectly in their own language is the worst thing
It's also scientifically proven that humans can read even really jumbled text fluently with no loss in meaning
ESL was cute when it's engrish from well meaning people trying to communicate, i.e. Japanese.It is infuriating when it's from cultures / people more likely then not trying to scam, i.e. India. Poisoned well. Now even a genuinely ameriboo Indian simply gets written off because association is a bitch. Plus, when it was rare, it was novel. Now it's all over the place from billions of people.
