A hundred years ago, a signature meant simply writing your name legibly in the best handwriting you could. Nowadays everyone just does a scribble like picrel. Most of the time you can't even make out what it says. Why did this become acceptable? Is it because blacks can't write cursive?
>>541357432I must be the only one who actually writes my name as my signature because I have no idea how to do those scribbles. My handwriting is very unique to me though.
>>541357500Hi fellow autist.I write my name very quickly so it looks like I'm pulling some gay scribble. My handwriting is just terrible due to my brain being unable to conceptualize shapes (letters).
>>541357432You ever read through legal documents in court cases? Only dips write legibly

>>541357432Actually a good thread, why signatures matter?
>>541357432My signature is just my initials with some scribbles in-between. Never bothered to practice a fancy signature.
>>541357680>Actually a good thread, why signatures matter?Handwriting was a form of identification before the digital era. By the time photo ID started being common place it was not needed any longer. I can recognize my mother and father's handwriting just at a glance and would be able to catch forgery.
>>541357432The point of a signature is it's your unique scribble, that only you can effortlessly replicate. For someone else to forge your signature, i.e. copy the minute subtleties of the curvature of your scribbles, would take a substantial amount of effort. That's why a signature really isn't a good form of identity verification unless someone watches you write it, to prove you did it quickly and without thinking too hard about it.
>>541357650No I'm a NEET, why would I do work? There are these shmucks called lawyers who do that for me.
>>541357844In that case we should start calling them scribbles. Scribble here sir. Initials here. Scribble there.
>>541357432Because I have to sign like sixteen filings a fucking day and I no longer give a fuck, anon.
