>>
>>541372673
How many applications have you submitted?
>>
>>541372673
Graduating uni in the US is like graduating high school in India.
>>
>>541372673
Also what did you study?
>>
>>541372673
school promise you an education not a job
>>
>>541372673
Depends, what's your degree? and where did you get it from?
>>
>>541372673
I graduated 18 years ago and haven't had a job.
>>
>>541372673
You didn't go to university.
How many paid internships? At least 2 right? Yes they are all paid now.
What about research you did join some department research lab correct? At least some letter of recommendation from a professor? TA even ?
What about people you met there you can't ask a single one hey where do you work and if there's an opening let me know? That's how you get jobs
>>
>>541372673
If it were possible to predict that a degree would become useless upon obtaining it, and they nevertheless advertised that it wouldn't be useless, then it would be a scam. Do you suppose universities had access to information which you didn't? Let's be real, none of us know what the fuck we're doing, and the people who are fucking everything up for everyone aren't academics.

Your handshake is probably not firm enough.

Got to have experience, proof of work and make a business plan lining out exactly how you are able to create immediate value for the company from day 1
Degrees are optional and in fact irrelevant
>>
>>541372673
What did you study? If you were a retard who got a computer engineering or art history degree, then it was your own fault for picking a major with no career prospects. Did you network? It's not what you know, it's who you know.
>>
I think it's cool I don't even need to read the thread to know that there will be a bunch of Broducation posts telling OP he should have done 50 internships and joined a club and networked with rich kids and submitted 1000 applications and worked on projects in finance or CS or something to get some entry level bullshit job opening emails or whatever.
>>
Meanwhile I dropped out and now have a comfy wfh job lmao
>>
>>541372673
You just fucking suck

I don't understand why do Americans complain on the internet instead of going to walmart, buying a gun and shooting themselves?
>>
>>541373186
Only reason to do PhD is academia, and its a shit life unless you're in cutting edge STEM fields, and even then, it's less shit. Has always been that way, even back in the boomer era.

Yes.

I didn't even finish high school and applied for my first job at 32. Just walked in, told them I knew how to program and got signed up straight away. Did a year as a junior developer and then got promoted.
>>
>>541372673
As someone who graduated 4 years ago and only did shitty small companies that were technically in my field, yes nigga we got fucked over. We might have a nuclear holocaust soon, so just have fun now until that comes, man
>>
>>541372859
OP this is how you get jobs.
You had an internship and they hire you, or someone vouches for you.
You're in a frat and get in the nepotism way.
A friend from a club related to your discipline gets a job and puts in a good word for you.
Likewise you get your buddy hired.
Otherwise it's going to be 100 interviews you slam dunk before you even get some bullshit.
Then you'll work a bit, realize it's bullshit, and quit. Or more likely laid off and replaced by jeets who can't even do your job but they get it anyway.
>>
>>541372673
I have no degree working in a BPO and am about to become manager. Lole
