There is real underlying science and actual problems involved that should be dealt with, but the government lies about the science and uses it as an excuse to implement totalitarian policies. Like yes, Covid was a real disease which was more dangerous than the flu when it initially emerged. Vaccines were able to somewhat reduce your risk of catching it, and so could masks under very specific circumstances. That doesn't mean that vaccine passports and mask mandates were justified, but I do wish the right had been smarter about this and used the whole ordeal as a platform to try to abolish the FDA to reduce pharmaceutical prices and encourage people to wear masks to weaken the surveillance state. We could have gotten real gains out of this if we were strategic.
