Germany to add a sugar tax for drinks. The tax comes in 3 brackets, depending on how much sugar is in your drink. The tax goes from 26 cents / liter all the way up to 38 cents per liter. The reason given is that they are unhealthy so just like cigarettes and other unhealthy shit they plan to reduce consumption by taxing the living shit out of it. The catch? Even sugar free drinks like coca cola zero are going to have the lowest bracket (26 cents / liter) applied to them, which in most cases just means that the sugar free version will remain more expensive than the version with sugar in it.

Water will also be taxed due to climate change induced shortages and "AI stealing it all"

To pay pensions since boomers have chocked their own children from reproducing.

I have a personal experience:
When I got my first girlfriend in middle school my mother made an angry declaration that if I ever got her pregnant I would be out of the house (illegal here btw). I hadn't even gotten my first kiss or had my first date, but the boomer had to drive down that reproduction was a luxury not allowed to anyone below a college education with a career. So in med school me and the other 350 students on my class all sat in our mid twenties childless, so we could get a degree to take care of elderly boomers in their old age instead of having numerous families.

Rookie numbers, we have 6 brackets between 20 and 59c/l. And although the lowest bracket is lower than yours, it applies even to bottled water.

just make all food items impossible to buy for the average citizen lol

I think we're just ramping up. I remember when a 1.5 liter bottle of the shitty lidl cola was 29 cents a bottle. Now after covid and the ukraine war we're at 70 cents a bottle. With the new tax it's going to be roughly 1.10€ a bottle. We more than trippled the price in the last 6 years and I don't see it ending any time soon. My average groceries price more than doubled in less than a decade.

People, they're just creeping food taxes on you. Next it will be white bread and cereal. Your government isn't your owner, it doesn't get to choose what you're allowed to eat like you're it's fucking dog.

All of you fucks that moan about this would have voted for it in the past.

Who else is going to pay for the new Germans anon. Turns out they dont work.
>>
>>541398021

Thats the thing. Public healthcare does give them an opinion on what you put in your body. They have to pay for the consequences.

>>541398021
When it is "free healthcare" they sure as hell do it and are allowed.

lol they are constantly trying to get rid of pensions, they are already talking about slowly raising the pension age to 70.
>>
>>541396583
absolutely your problem, because water will follow soda prices if bottled. Why would they have some huge gap between two products?

Artificial sweeteners are toxic, Mehmet.

"The consumption of artificial and low-calorie sweeteners (ASs, LCSs) is an important component of the Western diet. ASs play a role in the pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome, dysbiosis, inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), and various inflammatory conditions. Intestinal nutrient-sensing receptors act as a crosstalk between dietary components, the gut microbiota, and the regulation of immune, endocrinological, and neurological responses. This narrative review aimed to summarize the possible effects of ASs and LCSs on intestinal nutrient-sensing receptors and their related functions. Based on the findings of various studies, long-term AS consumption has effects on the gut microbiota and intestinal nutrient-sensing receptors in modulating incretin hormones, antimicrobial peptides, and cytokine secretion. These effects contribute to the regulation of glucose metabolism, ion transport, gut permeability, and inflammation and modulate the gut–brain, and gut–kidney axes. Based on the conflicting findings of several in vitro, in vivo, and randomized and controlled studies, artificial sweeteners may have a role in the pathogenesis of IBDs, functional bowel diseases, metabolic syndrome, and cancers via the modulation of nutrient-sensing receptors." - ["The Effects of Artificial Sweeteners on Intestinal Nutrient-Sensing Receptors: Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde?" well, lets hope SA puts the AfD into charge in two weeks and our government just implodes over it, because I am really tired of looking at these hideous, fat and dysgenic creatures and listening to their retarded rambling about why it's okay to steal even more of my money.
I actually hope the AfD persecutes them as hard as they are kvetching about. give me a full scale political purge of the nation.

* "Consumption of artificial sweeteners (ASWs) in various foods and beverages has been linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). However, molecular mechanisms underlying ASW-associated CVD remain unknown. Here, we show that consumption of 0.15% aspartame (APM) markedly increased insulin secretion in mice and monkeys." - ["Sweetener aspartame aggravates atherosclerosis through insulin-triggered inflammation" (2025)](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1550413125000063)

I rather pay more for 100% sugar drinks thank those evil sugar/aspartame they started to do. Ruined Gini for me, the only soda I liked. A sugary drink should be a rare treat anyway.
>>
>>541401276
Okay, I would rather not pay more and keep the current prices. Or even better, go back to the old prices.
