>China Is Officially Moving It’s Yuan Onto A New Gold Standard
>China Internationalizes the Gold-Backed Yuan and Payment System for the First Time Ever.
>Hong Kong’s government-owned gold clearing system launched trial operations in July 2026, providing unallocated OTC settlement linked to the Shanghai Gold Exchange to strengthen its position as an Asian gold hub.
>China has also announced blockchain-based payment system with BRICS, away from the dollar and backed by gold.
The Chinese government is already prepared for the impending "Great Depression 2.0" and a severe devaluation of the U.S. dollar.
Once this happens, our government will be able to immediately abandon the U.S. dollar and switch to settling transactions 100 percent in Chinese yuan.
As for the U.S. government, it seems to have no plan at all. They are simply waiting for everything to start collapsing, and then rebuilding.

This
So they are going to actually redeem the yuans and give us actual physical gold?
China might not have as much debt as the USA but they paper it over like everyone else does
If they redeemed for gold they would just end up giving all that gold away

The "Unit" is a proposed digital settlement currency and pilot project backed 40% by physical gold and 60% by a basket of BRICS+ national currencies. What is The Unit?Purpose: It functions as a wholesale, cross-border trade settlement instrument rather than an everyday retail currency.Backing Structure: It uses a 40/60 design—40% anchored to physical gold by weight and 60% composed of the national currencies of BRICS+ members.Technology: Transactions run on decentralized blockchain protocols to facilitate transparent digital clearing. Why is it Being Developed?De-dollarization: It aims to reduce trade dependence on the US dollar and Western financial messaging systems like SWIFT.Lower Costs: It removes the need to convert local currencies to US dollars during cross-border transactions.Stability: Weight-based gold valuation acts as a natural hedge against inflation and currency volatilit

Back when America had a gold backed currency, the gov't never had enough gold reserves to fully back it. I trust the Chinese gov't even less then I trust the American one.

China, as well as every nation, should make a currency consisting of gold, silver and copper coins. They won't but they should.

>So they are going to actually redeem the yuans and give us actual physical gold?
That's not true.
The truth is, the U.S. government exports gold, and then we give you dollars.
This is true,if you don't believe it, you can look it up yourself.
In the first half of 2026, gold was the second-largest U.S. export commodity, second only to oil.
