As someone who has worked in the German auto industry I can tell you that hydrogen cars are the biggest grift of grifts that purely aimed (and failed) to postpone the end of life of the combustion engine by for example diverting investments and subsidies from vastly superior and more efficient and cheap electric cars and battery research, which is the biggest indicator that it was a grift from the very beginning because all hydrogen cars are electric cars that depend on any developmenty in battery tech as well. Right now all big hydrogen upscale projects have been cancelled or reduced to very small alibi research projects that fulfill the minimum criteria to get your hands on government funding. Hydrogen is effectively a fossil energy source because it is a byproduct of Qatari gas extraction and this was never supposed to change

The only real grift is EVs. It is an impossibility more now than ever with the AI grift and it already was an impossibility before AI. No grid on the planet, not even the one in the US can supply the EV world. It is an impossibility, plain and simple. Hydrogen tho with all it's corporate detractors is the only sensible future outside of oil.
>>
>>541465253
Me again. So the German car industry is fucking toast. Despite the fact that we still have some of the worlds most cutting edge battery research (within public universities and Institutes) the combustion industry lobbied against any attempt to establish a coherent industrial strategy in favor of the BEV, especially one that centers around battery cell assembly, the heart of any BEV development.

The result is now that virtually all German automakers are completely dependent on Chinese battery tech, especially BMW is 100% dependent on CATL for example. German CEOs were on record saying stupid shit like 'Batteries are just cheap supply parts'. Now every car manufacturer desparately tries to eek out the last value-adding parts outside of cell assembly that are left like thermo management systens or battery management systems. Probably is that CATL and co aren't dumb so they offer vastly superior integrated solutions at this point, stopping just short of making their own cars.
>>
>>541465770
>The only real grift is EVs
There are 100 million EVs on Chinese roads right now.

6 months ago Austria shut down every single pilot hydrogen gas station. You can keep repeating your lobbyist talking points but I am vastly more knowledgable on this subject than you. Again as of now hydrogen is much of a fossil fuel as oil, it's literally a byproduct of gas extraction.
>>
>>541465927
It's a real mess. Germany from a resource perspective should favor EVs, as outside of coal they lack hydrocarbon deposits. But they have lots of industrial capital and power tied up in combustion engines and they happen to sell a lot of these cars to the oil-producing states.
>>
>>541466103
It's already over, the Chinese now have the superior battery tech and the assembly lines as well. Companies like Volkswagen try in a last ditch effort to establish their own cell assemblies but even at their pilot plants they are in turn dependent on Chinese processing machines, also originally one of Germany's economic pillars.

Where did you got that figure? From the same government you say lies all the time? Also you cannot compare CHOYNA with the US the latter of which is broke and embezzles public money instead of fortifying it's grid. The US and the West would rather spend a quadrillion dollars decintegrating Gaza than using the money to better their countries. I ask you, is CHOYNA lying about their numbers or do they only lie when it's convenient to your narrative?

Btw, you are already behind.

The BEV has already won. So have Electric trucks and even off-higjway machines are getting electrified now just google the cooperarions companiss like Liebherr have concluded with battery makers. CATL has even announced major maritime projects.

The only thing that is actually seriously debated right now, with open end, is air flight. That's it. Batteries have already won tbe future in any other space.

Why do science tards try so hard to use hydrongen, when they can just combine it with nitrogen and get ammonia that eliminates all the negatives of hydrogen. The fuel tank will be large, but that's like 3% of car weight.

Here in NJ it's got to be like every 4th or 5th car is a Tesla. I don't doubt what he's saying at all even though I've never been to China. Just put a water tank in place of the fuel tank and electrolyse the water in the car you dumb nigger.
Take 40MJ off the engine to power the electrolysis and run the water through reverse osmosis filters to prevent scaling of the electrolyser.
Pump the resulting hydrogen gas into the combustion chamber under pressure, happy motoring, and the only exhaust fumes are oxygen and water vapour.
This is piss easy.

Hydrogen can leak out of any joints it finds. Any hole. This is the problem. Engineering a storage and transport system to use hydrogen is extremely difficult, because hydrogen is the tiniest form of matter that exists. And because the shit is retardedly reactive with anything oxidizing(such as air and any ignition source).

Natural gas(methane) is a much more stable and safe storage medium for hydrogen than H itself. 4 hydrogens bound and stabilized to a single carbon.
>>
>>541468094
Right now it is being pumped out of the Persian Gulf along with natural gas.

Scientifically illiterate people will try to tell you that we will abundant energy (lol) to make it with electrolyzers with is an incredibly inefficient and expensive process. The biggest problem among many is that hydrogen catalysis is completely dependent on platinum metal catalysts, a problem that hasn't been solved in 70 years. If you think that Lithium shortage is a big deal you can't begin to imagine the extent of platinum metal shortage we will get with this.

Exactly, it's not green and its not practical. Even if the hydrogen was produced by electrolysis and the electric grid wasn't powered by carbon, it's still not a practical way to store and use that energy. Hydrogen is extremely difficult to store, and has terrible energy density in terms of volume.

Sodium-ion powered vehicles are the future.

>>541465229
The answer to leakage issues are volume and positive pressure layers.

it's a special slop paste they mix to make it stable and simple to transport. it's still a scam, you need EV battery as you're not burning it rather it's an electrochemical process which makes electricity and charges a smaller EV battery so in the end it's a scam. can't compete with EVs on cost
>>
>>541469432
>Even if the hydrogen was produced by electrolysis
it's still retarded because it's the equivalent of taking gas, turning it into electricity and using that electricity in your car to make gas back so car can burn it. it's pretty much retarded. just use the fucking electricity you'd use to make hydrogen, like directly into EV battery lol. what the actual fuck lmao

The USA cannot do that. Hydrogen is the future for all countries with an infrastructure already. Scrapping entire industries to try and copy China out of pure jealousy is stupid specially when the West rhetoric is that CHOYNA bad. Listen just because nobody in the entire world buys American cars does not mean scrapping those industries is an answer to America's economic woes. This only helps the interest of Elon and no one else. If the USA wants to sell cars they have to make them better and cheaper but the American way of business is unsalvageable. The line cannot go up infinitely. America has to abandon and reform the way it does business or it will inevitably die. American business would rather blame CHOYNA or anyone else but themselves.

Batteries are not the future. Well, maybe in CHOYNA, but out of necessity rather than actual technical superiority. Batteries are not superior to oil. How is China going to overcome its dependence on oil for heavy machinery? They can't. Nobody can. They are striving to lessen their dependence, though, but only because the US is doing its best to cripple China through its dependence on oil not because batteries are superior.
