I've never had a physical disc disappear when the company went under
that's a real threat now, not just going under but they can suddenly decide out of nowhere to pull the media you paid for with zero refund or replacement, and it's in the TOS that they can do this

why I will never use steam, idgaf if they rarely do it just the notion that I can spend several hundred dollars in digital media just to have it yanked at whim and lose all that money is absolutely ridiculous

No they don't. Being loyal to companies is BS. Developers always are greedy and will always betray you. If you give them nothing, then you won't feel betrayed. I can't stand knowing that people get one over on me so I won't allow them to.

Nigger, it's etiquette, and a practical way for both parties to signal neither has anything else to say on the call and that it can end. The number of times I've had someone hang up on me, because they were apparently done with whatever they said, even when I was required to give them some information over the phone and in the process of doing so, is kind of ridiculous.
>>
>>541471107
>Why do People pay for consoles and steam and spotify and books and movies when you can just pirate the thing?

Honestly? Most stuff is crap... not worth pirating. And if something is good, do you really want the crack.exe bullshit on your PC? That's how a lot of people ended up in the Epstein files, not sure who needs to hear that.
>>
If it's simple to pirate i pirate if its easier to buy i simply buy
No i don't want to download 5 separate files and a bunch of patches to make a ripped copy functional
I want my escapism in my hands as fast as possible
Gabe is right piracy is a service issue and it's still a 50/50 spilt for me between piracy and buying.
plus all studios and games im unsure about get auto pirated because nobody does demos anymore

I literally said "if something is good" you'd buy it. I never said you'd buy something that's bad.
>>
>>541471541
Games can be made by 3-6 people and still be good. While Blackrock does pay movie and companies to make bad products, they can't force every minor privately organised video game development group to make gay and shitty games.

>>541471978

Exaclty

Pirating was the bee's knees in Latin America when salaries were 100 dollars a month, and people owning computers was a 4 or 7year old refurbish...

new games didn't run, and you couldn't even buy the old games if you wanted to, they weren't for sale

>>
>>541482518
You watch, then delete most of the shit, and save whats decent. Which hasn't been much this decade. We've been torrenting since the nineties, when movies were still worth a fuck.
>>
>>541471107
25 years ago I "pirated" games and convinced myself that I would never again buy. Now here I am, a busy working adult, and I look at the cost of a proper gaming computer setup and the time it would take to get "free software" and set it up. I know all about torrenting and finding gray sites and finding semi-private download clubs. I just don't want to do that anymore. It's better for my wallet and my time to just buy a console, buy the game, buy extra hard drives and stick the thing in the console, and then easily play a video game or two with my nephew.

Why would I spend my time finding a download, possibly seeding, and then setting it up when it is cheaper for me to simply buy? My time is worth more than the "free" route and frankly, I am sick and tired of fucking around with software and computers anymore. I just want things to work. I can pick up that Duelsense controller, hit a button, and see the 200 PS5 games and 560 PS4 games that I have installed on my 4tb internal (for PS5) and 7tb external (for PS4). No downloading necessary. I have it and it's already installed.

"Why do people..."
Now you know. It's cheaper than your "free" option.
>>
>>541476717
Goodness gracious, someone teach these fucking faggots some basic Western etiquette. "Have a good night" is not some esoteric shit, you autistically-minded "nonverbal" socially-retarded illiterate.
>>
>>541471107
>>541471541
>>541475883
>>541472247

It's because most people are retards. Why pay for shit you can get for free. The publisher takes most of the money, then the government, then other expenses, then the people who actually develop the games work 60-80 hour weeks and get paid a fraction of a competent programmer.
Musicians get paid basically nothing from streaming per view. They have record labels that give them maybe 1% or less of the money. Then they have to pay taxes. They have to repay advancements. They don't own the rights to their own music.

I'm not storing hundreds of games offline reliably. I buy grey market keys to actively snub devs and studios when piracy is free advertising. I will pay money to never deal with your weird and gay ultra compressed files that take forever to unpack while console may or may not stroke out putting malware and loggers on your system.
>>
>>541473618
And yet you enjoy what they make enough to go out of your way to play it.
>>
>>541474824
That's why I only take a generally anti-piracy stance on indie games, especially if it's a game that I really love. In such a case, I wish for the developer to enjoy success and be rewarded for their passion and talent.

Jesus was a KIKE criminal who: inciteed riots, interrupted commerce at the temple, instructed his followers to illegally arm themselves,
and claimed he was the son of God. He did all this during Passover when all the Jews gathered.

He wasn't the first criminal KIKE nor the last.
ChristKike was arrested by a 600 man Roman cohort plus temple guard. He wasn't a Roman citizen and wasn't entitled to trial.
He was crucified by the Romans and was labeled King of the Jews.

Then later on Based Emperor Trajan who expanded the Roman Empire to it's greatest extent, in 117 expelled the Jews forever and destroyed the Kike Temple. The Romans destroyed Kikes and ChristKike.

CHRISTFAGS worship a JEWISH CRIMINAL.
