People see UBI as something dystopic. It isn't. My plan for example is buying a second hand sailboat like pic related and sailing all the year round in warm places like the Caribbean, being constantly in contact with nature and wonderful landscapes. Not a millionaire's lifestyle, but definitely comfy by any wagie's standard.
UBI != living in a pod.
>>
>>541498485
OP, you're not going to be able to ever save up to buy that boat on UBI.
The murican gook promising UBI promised what? 1000 bucks a month? What's your current rent?
Also, one of the biggest reasons why he couldn't get any more AIPAC funding for his campagn than he did, was the antisemitic rule he wanted to grandfather in, forbidding to use your ubi as collateral for loans.

Anyboy can put together $25k.
Anyway UBI will be waaay more than $1k.
It's a dividend in an AI super efficient economy.
UBI will be more than enough for paying maintanence for the boat and basic grocery.
>>
>>541498485
If everyone is on UBI and can afford a small yacht at today's prices, then there won't be enough yachts and the price will go batshit crazy
>>
>>541499227
You can’t UBI will be programmable tokens with a build in experation date hell those tokens even say were and what you can spend it on.
>>
>>541498485
I'm all for UBI but only if the money comes from corporations and billionaires. No tax increase and no money printing.
>>
>>541499483
And what zone you can spend those tokens in
>>
>>541499227
>Anyboy can put together $25k.
Then why haven't you?
I did - and then some, but I bought a brick house on a nice small town lot, not a live-aboard boat.
Most importantly, I didn't do it collecting fucking UBI.
And I've never met anyone who earns enough money to actually save up anything who shill for UBI.
Non-anon UBI fanbois tend to be the kind that finance a pizza in easy rates because they're too stoned to get their ass off the couch to cook for themselves.
>>
It is never going to happen. The system is designed to motivate you to feel like you never have enough but if you work a little harder you might get there, for most years of your healthy adult life. Then give you just enough to exist on once you are so old senile and weak you are more trouble in the workforce you cost more wealth than you generate.
It then uses this as the workforce to siphon most wealth they generate and give it to the elites and the government.
They are never going to just drop that motivation for the masses it is what props up the entire system.
>>
>>541498485
You introduce UBI and that boat will cost $250k instead of $25k
(btw boats like that cost you $10k a year just in upkeep and insurance)
>>
>>541499489
> I'm all for UBI but only if the money comes from corporations and billionaires. >No tax increase and no money printing.

Lol anon it’s literally never worked that way. The globohomo jew dems just raise taxes on working class, especially White men.
>>
>>541498485
Oh hey, I do this. Ironically it quite literally is a millionaires lifestyle. The fun thing about long distance cruising is that the only people who make it to some of these remote places are hardcore sailors and mega yachts. Its a solid plan. My boat was 50k but it's a big, heavy 40 footer with basically all of the mod cons except aircon. There are months where we spent $0 on anchor in Bahamas or Maine just eating on board and reading books or whatever.

>>541498880
There are boats given away at my yacht club for free, all the time. At least one a year as some old timer ages out and just wants some young blood to take his pride and joy.

There is an entire generation of boomers with modest or no retirement savings and social security checks just tooling around on old trawlers, endlessly following the warm weather around the "great loop" down the Mississippi River, through the Gulf, up the east coast, and back to the Mississippi via Canada. It's a proven and demonstrably possible thing to do. If you are decent with a set of wrenches and can get good at rigging you can do that or simply sailing (which avoids 99% of fuel costs) around eating lentil and bean dishes and spend next to nothing.

If you have a modest remote work job and starlink it's beyond enough to sustain even occasional marina stays to go ashore to restaurants, use the pool, take long showers etc. Everything on a boat is made more complicated by weather, sea state, tides, etc but it keeps you connected to nature and it's enormously satisfying learning to exist in harmony with those rythyms. Best part is if shit ever really goes sideways then you have a cruising range limited only by your fresh water stores... No fuel needed. Solar power. An apocalypse aficionados dream.
>>
>>541500165
I know.
>>
>>541500167
Why not put a solar power rig and an electric engine inside your boat? It’s dirt cheap these days
>>
>>541499749
UBI is not gonna be money like you think it is the IMF and BIS allready wrote lengthy papers on this subject
>>
>>541498485
What are you going to do during hurricane season
>>
>>541500167
Living the dream. I think the vast majority of remote jobs are going away though.

It's inevitable. The Industrial Revolution made human manual labour obsolete, AI is making human mental labour obsolete. A sufficiently advanced AI + robotics can produce abundance for all. Far easier to control the population with bread and circuses than extermination.

>>541500331
It's a lot more feasible these days than 7 years ago when I bought it, yeah. Lithium iron phosphate batteries are safe-er than lithium ion, but a white metal fire on a boat is certain death if you're far offshore. There are zero integrated circuits in my 1983 Perkins diesel. The boat can move under its own power in a post nuclear EMP hellscape. The biggest battery system can only manage a few, maybe 10 hours if low speed cruising. I carry enough diesel to motor for about 180 hours at 6mph, and you can throw a lit cigarette into a puddle of diesel without any worries. Good luck finding a new charge controller/inverter/whatever in Micronesia, you can find diesel just fine. But again, you should be sailing anyway once you escape the imminent danger zone.

The core idea behind UBI isn't that people can live their lives off it not doing anything. It is meant to cover your very basics so you can study, develop your business ideas and raise children without the crushing burden of poverty and fear of going homeless. We'll still want people to be incentivised to achieve and offer themselves to the community. Living just on UBI would probably just mean a monk-like existence. UBI income is unlikely to be useable for non-essentials, let alone luxury goods like boats. Kinda like food stamps work now- you can only buy basic foodstuff and fresh produce you need to cook yourself, not doordash with it.

I believe every state should pay something, at least a minimal guaranteed stipend to all its citizens. Why? Because in every country there are countless natural riches: land, air, waters, underground minerals, etc... which of course belongs to the nation as a whole. Any profit (or rather, land rents) derived from said riches should be taxed at a certain level (the ideal rate would be 100% but ofc that's imposs), and govt revenues derived from those taxes should be reimbursed partially (as part of it should cover mandatory gov spending, also spent for the common good on paper). It must be said, however, that based on my estimates this would nowhere near be close to a living wage. UBI in that sense is imposs as you'd have to raise taxes to high heavens and then the vast majority of gov spending would be paid out as UBI: unworkable. But my idea is moral, optimal and possible. It can be further be improved upon by: paying out a yearly bonuses IF the state also saves some of its revenue and uses it for investments (see: Singapore), at age 18 people should get a basic equity i.e. the sum of all normal stipends increased by a virtual compound interest, and maybe the stipend itself should be separate by diff cohorts (young adults would get more as adults, as the former earns less on avg as adults, etc...)

You like sitting on a wait list for 10 years till some old fuck croaks and you get a slip? Otherwise your living off anchor. You will never make it. Mine aswell become homeless.

Had a 32 foot Ericsson sloop that I bought for 10k and then sold after sailing for 3 years for 15k.

Just gotta know when to strike.

That sounds pretty cool, but if there's all these natural riches all over the place, why would we settle for meager subsistence? Why not have universal shitload of income and we can all be filthy stinking rich and just lounge around in beach houses surrounded by servants every day?
>>
>>541498880
Why the fuck would you rent if you can pretty much move anywhere and create community with other UBI receipient?
Are you an actual retard
>>
>>541503555
Well it's not all over the place and diff countries have diff riches and amount of riches (oil monarchies are filthy rich cause of that). What every country has are land and air, so a land value tax and "carbon" tax is feasible in all places. Indeed, the single biggest source of revenue would be the LVT, even if it's just a 2-3% on the value of land / year. But to put this into perspective: even if we'd charge a 100% LVT (would be something like 6-8% tax/year) it would still not enough to pay for all gov expenditure AND to pay a stipend to all citizens. So unfort. we need other taxes too and we can't reasonably afford a "true" UBI which pays living wage to everyone. Don't believe me? Check out yourself, check out the country with the highest tax-to-GDP ratio and then divide it's entire yearly revenue by its population: even that country could not reasonably pay out such a stipend and would have to further increase taxes (and they're the highest taxers already). Perhaps if AI and AGI and whatnot truly upends the current realities, an UBI of such magnitude would be poss... but Im skeptical of that.

>>
>>541498485
LMAO. UBI will simply inflate basic assets and commodities so you’re exactly as poor as you are now.
>>
>>541504873
>Georgism is a better system
Indeed, as I also read Henry George and my recommendation is centered on his principles. Ofc Georgism too has some minor flaws, so to speak: A, there won't ever be a 100% LVT, certainly not in our lives, B, governments grew to such an extent that a single tax would not be able to afford everything along with an UBI-esque payout. And C, I also had my reservations on George's claim that "excess revenue from LVT should be redistributed to fellow citizens"... as I'm always skeptical of power I'd much rather have governments distribute a fixed % of revenues, and this should be constitutionally protected if possible (similar to the UK's Crown Estate, an ideal redist. should be some 12-15% of all revenues, or 20% or more of specific revenues derived from land rents and Pigouvian taxes... ofc course, any excess revenue should be invested by the state, same way how Alaska did with its Permanent Fund, which in turn will also serve the citizens' welfare directly).

> It's a dividend in an AI super efficient economy.
See that's where you're wrong memeflag nigger
Social dividend is one thing, UBI is something else entirely
Social dividend is, well, dividend. You get dividends full stop. You have a god given right to your dividend. You do whatever the fuck you want with your dividend money.
UBI is a nice concession the state makes you. If you're a good goy. We don't give UBI to terrorists do we? Of course we don't.
Social dividend assumes control and ownership on your part, UBI has none of that. You're a slave to a system that wants you dead and enslaved, and it's just giving you enough so that you don't sperg out and try to destroy the very delicate and expensive infrastructure it depends on (oh btw: there's very expensive, fragile and completely unprotected infrastructure all around you. You can probably even walk there (leave your phone at home). Isn't that crazy that they leave transformers and power poles costing millions completely unguarded for anybody with an angle grinder to go at? Whew good thing we're law abiding citizens, imagine what could happen)
Plus, smart contracts and programmable CBDC make sure you don't get crazy ideas like buying too much meat or sail on a boat while you collect $$$ no no, boats are for the chosen ones, your money is flagged so that you can only buy worm flour and pay rent for the goypod 4000 - best pod there is. Oh you want to save some at the end of the month? That's funny, what would goyim use savings for, we provide you with everything you need, all unused money goes poof at the end of the month. You should have bought that MealWorm Sustainable IceWormCream when you had the chance huh, too late now

Boatfag here, at the risk of making an on-topic reply, do you really think that the hyperscalers who run AI platforms today are just going to find it in their hearts to start paying people a dividend? Do you really think the fully captured government of the US is going to finally bring those monopolists to heel and make them share the wealth? There is zero probability of that happening absent some kind of French revolution in the USA. Furthermore if US based AI firms replace all entry level jobs globally, what are the tech support jeets gonna do in India/Vietnam/Philippines? Are we supposed to fund them too?

The powers that be have a new system that has been in the development for decades now, ready to be rolled out in the coming years. It will operate in parallel starting sometime this year and by the next decade it will be fully operational as the Agenda 2030 goals are slowly being implemented.
There will be no collapse, no violence, no uprising, no world war, no draft, no revolution, no killing of jews or politicians or other such fantasies. Instead there will be law & order, compliance and total surveillance until the very end. AI will be at the center of it all.

The Great Reset is inevitable.
