There's no such thing as "US Law" when it comes to responding to threats with deadly force. Every state is like its own mini country, that's why in some states you're a disarmed helpless victim when a nigger breaks into your house, and in other states as soon as that nigger comes running up your lawn while armed you're within your rights to fucking kill him where he stands. There are states with castle doctrine and stand your ground, others without it. It dictates police policy as well. Some states will allow officers to respond with deadly force in the situation you described, others won't.

The law on this is the same in every state and federal jurisdiction. If a man is holding a woman hostage and threatening to kill her, deadly force is permitted.

Here in Europe, specifically Italy. You have to let him kill the hostage, kill you, revive yourself and the hostage, get a certificate of your both deaths, and then you can talk to a prosecutor to press charges.
This is the only way justice is served justily.

you'll be fine if he has multiple hostages
just let him smoke the first one and then it's perfectly fine to use deadly force to save the rest
also everyone still alive will clap at the end

in single hostage situation is harder to pull off justified killing unless there's shitload of cameras and you have godlike reflexes and aim (or bullet time bar still full)
you could also try the meme way and shoot the hostage (non lethally) which will make the hostage taker very confused allowing you to teleport behind him while uttering 'nothing...personnel...kid...' and ripping his head off

I mean, that one protestor shot by ICE was also unarmed.
So I think it is fair to say that ppl have a very situational interpretation of (((immediate threat of serious injury))).

i often watch cop videos where US cops unload entire mags into some innocent niggers b/c they where not complying to ridicolous orders fast enough ("...now stand on one hand with your pants down and sign the national anthem or i have to mag dump you, lil nigger") . usa law & justice is a complete perversion cooked up into some telaviv basement.

You have never seen anything remotely close to this.
