It's already popping, NVIDIA won't give free GPUs to startups or big companies any more like they used to for FREE and report these as sales as long as they do stock swaps. And Oracle's requests for new datacenters have been denied by the investors. None of the AI companies is making actual money, the revenue doesn't cover the expense even with the trillion dollar cash infusion. And they're all begging for more money already!

What hasn't popped is the STOCK bubble or the hardware price bubble. But the AI bubble is popping and the Chinese won't stop that, their shit's all distilled and running on subsidy too.

the xx90s is just the high tier version and should support better graphics and have better performance and longer life.
the xx90s in reality are not meant for AI, its just a graphics processor consumers are forced to use for local AI.

There is a substantial graphic quality increase between the high tier and the middle tier, the problem is that prices are extremely inflated because that greedy chink is doing infinite money glitches.

infinite money glitches cannot be sustained forever, the qwen3.8 27B is comparable to luna and opus 4.6, and its local, there is no decreasing reasons to keep lending money to the likes of oracle or openAI for more datacenters, when the money flow stops then all these companies will turn into crisis mode.

But retards will be retards and the consumers that were raped by NVidia will bail them out buying their hardware again...

the 4090 had a total memory capacity of 48GB but shipped with 24GB, meaning that we paid a price for half the capacity and retards are happy with that...

no one should buy AMD or NVidia again, otherwise we will be rewarding this kind of behaviour.

>are you familiar with this "capitalism" thing
You dumb nigger you have no fucking clue how pricing works. No, they dont lower prices out of the kindness of their hearts they lower prices to compete for the lowest prices to move inventory; which is largely going to be determined by availability.

RAM and GPU prices will come down, but not until demand comes down, or at least the supply comes up to relieve the pressure of the demand. This has repeatedly happened with RAM prices, not so much GPUs because new demand pressure from new uses has prevented that. First it was just gaming, but then bitcoin, then crypto in general, then AI has kept upward pressure on GPUs; but for commodity components like RAM and storage, processors, monitors, etc we have definitely seen prices go down.

Thats what capitalism does retard it makes people compete on price. Prices arent set by opinions, they are set by transactions.

>No, they dont lower prices out of the kindness of their hearts they lower prices to compete for the lowest prices to move inventory; which is largely going to be determined by availability.
now, picture this: what if you gave all the existing companies that manufactured them an excuse to double the prices all at once, setting a new industry standard
and then they all decided to stay there because it was way nicer selling a $400 card for $800+
and they could just sort of do this perpetually because it's not like they colluded on raising the price right? it's not technically "price fixing", right?

right
>>
days sales outstanding went from 45 to 60. That means their customers are having a harder time coming up with cash.
nvda cash on hand was a big disappointment. They've been buying back their own stock to keep the price artificially elevated, they can't do that much longer.
Their equity investments skyrocketed. When the companies they bought equity in start to go down nvda is going to crater.
They're trying to reframe the bear circular financing observation as being "nvidia is the new BANK OF AI", which is bullshit. That's the best they can come up with, because it's now mainstream knowledge that their profits are far from organic.
And on top of that, their inputs are getting waaaaay more expensive. Memory suppliers have adjusted to the demand and are now setting higher prices themselves, which means margin compression for nvda. nvda is also trying to spin their inventory buildup (which isn't getting shipped because their customers are starting to get denied loans and corporate bonds aren't selling as well as they thought) as instead "oh we're stocking up on inputs, they're totally cheap, so our margins will be fine".
Fat chance.

>When is the AI bubble popping?
If you are complaining about GPU prices, you need to keep in mind that AI bubble and GPU prices are different things. When AI bubble will pop, it does not mean that there will be sudden drop of GPU prices. Let me explain.

When journalists asked RAM manufacturers about prices and availability, they said something along the lines that entire 2027 is booked. As much I remember, those were 2 from major manufacturers. Also, there were reports, that a lot of RAM manufacturing lines have been converted to assemble HB2 memory, instead of oridinary RAM.
As much I remember, for ASML, they were booked 18 months in advance, and it was even before AI bubble. Likely now things are the same.

So, if AI bubble collapses, those companies still need to fullfill their contracts. If contract gets cancelled, and they need to re-adjust production line to manufacture GPU grade chips, instead of AI stuff, it still will take some time.

So if AI collapses in october, then GPU prices and availability to return to sane levels, it might happen at 2029. First, existing contracts get fullfilled. Then manufacturers try to keep prices as high as possible, to compensate for unearned money they did not gained from AI stuff. Slowly, but prices should return to more sane-ish levels at end of 2029.

Shut the fuck up jeet. He isnt correct about GPU pricing and his idiotic idea of how pricing works falls apart when you look at other computer components. GPUs arent special; yes they have had severe upwards pricing pressure because several popular technologies emerged over the past 10yrs to increase their demand to literally an industrial level; but when the day comes that GPUs arent moving out the door prices will fall until they do.

Well the UK still has slight tariffs on their own little buddy through your VAT tax bullshit. And another problem for UK buyers is that almost all global GPU vendors (like Nvidia, AMD, Asus, and MSI) manage their logistics and pricing on a global scale. Because these vendors are getting hit with 10% to 25% tariff penalties at the US border, they often absorb the losses by raising the global MSRP of their cards.
So because of us, you will still likely be paying more regardless. You are welcome cunt.

One company would cut prices by 1% to beat its competitors and snatch up all the customers. The others would cut prices by more to counter. This competition would continue until the prices reached a floor very close to the cost of production. That's the actual beauty of capitalism. It correctly takes into account human nature and the fact that, in the prisoner's dilemma, we defect. Yes, collusion yields more money overall, but the first to defect gets so much of a relative advantage over its opponents that it is often worth it.

yes but that's short term gain and long term loss especially for stock prices, the values of which far outweigh sales volume to modern corporations

>The others would cut prices by more to counter. This competition would continue until the prices reached a floor very close to the cost of production.

Say among multiple companies, there are two particular which are competing. One lowers price, and they get their inventory moving way faster. While second keeps old price, and their inventory moving very slowly, and some of it gets stuck in warehouse. Then second company need to lower their price to level that their inventory keeps moving faster, and not gets stuck in warehouses. Not always it means to go lower price than competitor. Just that you are able to sell stuff you are manufacturing, and remain profitable.

>>
>>541529577
There was some talks in media that in one of their fabs they are trying to improve manufacturing process to increase yields. If they will manage to get results till mid 2027, then they will be able to manufacture RAM at higher prices, while there still are significant demand.
If that progress will be slower, then they might miss on that opportunity. Time will show.

I kind of get being annoyed about their hobby getting marginally more expensive (ie. the low end cards increasing some too), but the other week one of my friends was all beat up about something going up by like $200. Like, bruh, prices are going up for the hardware I want to use too, and it's going up by the thousands. I'm not just using it for a hobby either, this is work.

I love my 5090, but I'm genuinely debating selling it to help fund something bigger.

All this shit will come crashing down with quantized models, the hardware crunch is part of a broader initiative. But everybody already has what they need.

t. typing this on a Thinkpad T520 made in 2011, it has 48 GB RAM and 8 processors. Benchmark-wise with Unixbench, it's about 1/6th as fast as my wife's Mac Mini her work bought for her earlier this year. But it serves my purposes and her Mac isn't even managed, it's just here on our LAN so I can use it whenever to do what heavy lifting I like, she neither cares, nor even notices.

I have a lot of other computers too, including a beefy Zen but that Mac Mini's the most beefy machine in the house rn.
