That border control building got literally scraped off the mountain. Anyone still wondering how we didn't find relics of ancient civilization near bodies of water finally got your answer right here. The great flood would've crushed everything into bits and buried.

Don't forget the silt build up at the bottom of the ocean or even in a river bed. We should by all means have mountains of Roman artifacts but due to the degradation of time, rust and usage its hard to find as is.

I'm sorry Mexican anon, I don't know about all that incest business. But think about it.
That rock is big as fuck. Ok, it's wet and muddy, but as long as you've got some good shoes on, I'm think even top quality DMs would do it, it's not as hard as it looks.

That's one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen. Those people had time to see what was coming, but they had absolutely no way to survive. No way whatsoever. I've seen videos of houses being swept away by tsunamis, but this is the only video I've seen where the water comes in with such force that it crushes large concrete buildings.

That was kinda one of the first things said by natives but we ignored them and still do because nothing ever happens until it does.
We somewhat followed their advice because we use their old paths converted to modern ones but modernism makes people live besides the sea or literally inside a dry river bed.
Then there's the japs who placed old stones to warn newfags but post-mutt occupation ignored these.

Martin Luther King Jr. used famous valley imagery in his 1963 I Have a Dream Speech at the Lincoln Memorial, where he proclaimed, "I have a dream that one day every valley shall be engulfed, every hill shall be exalted and every mountain shall be made low." "That no man will live in high-rises, we will all live on level ground, in the mud, and there will be no white man, and no black man, we will all be brown, because we can never be equal until we are all equal!"

I'm shocked by it. I don't want to watch that vid of the station being hit again. So much, so fast. What caused it?
>>
>>541535258
So it looks like a huge piece of glacier tumbled 4,000 feet into the valley, immediately displaced a fuck ton of water and caused a blockage, the blockage failed and that displaced water took with it all the debris brought down by the glacier, and then it just snowballed from there because it was all trapped in a narrow valley with nowhere to go but downstream.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong or missing something

no blockage, a chunk of mountain and glacier avalanched into a mudslide and just took everything with it
it basically almost instantly turns into sludge and then inertia and gravity flushes it down the valley
and all this happened within seven minutes, from the break on the mountain on the right, to the river t-junction on the left
thats why it hits so violently, thats a lot of material just careening through a narrow valley at breakneck speeds
>>
>>541535544

A person trapped inside a five-story building completely buried in mud can live anywhere from a few hours to several days, depending entirely on whether the building's structure holds up to create a sealed air pocket.
If they are familiar with the building, and can make their way to a first-aid station that has an emergency oxygen tank, maybe even longer. Remain calm, you may also be able to find food or snacks in a break room, or desk drawers.

China fucked themselves with the three gorges dam. They were warned this would happen. That reservoir behind that dam is like an inland ocean that's constantly evaporating. They're constantly seeding more rain in the area surrounding the reservoir and increasing rainfall. They were fucking TOLD this would happen, among a lot of other negative effects. So now they get crazy rain every year which has gotten worse and the dam is put under more stress. The sediment alone is an issue with that dam.

What's also interesting about those corridors is that the main Himalayan chain doesn't form a watershed there like you would expect with mountains of that size. Apparently the rivers that run south from the tibetan plateau are older than the himalayas themselves and as the mountain rose those rivers carved out the rocks at the same speed creating these convenient valleys that intersect the Himalayas. Compare that to the China-Pakistan border crossing in the Karakoram which is situated at a 5000 meter mountain pass.

The glacier was in china, but most of the fatalities were in Nepal. It's likely something they didn't have full visibility of or the ability to meaningfully manage.
Between the time of the collapse and the time the floodwaters reached the first populated settlement there were apparently only 7 minutes. Even if you were notified immediately and immediately understood the threat that still doesn't guarantee you'd be able to survive.

The Jonesboro Best Buy Tornado (March 2020)
When an EF3 tornado struck Jonesboro, Arkansas, employees at a local Best Buy retail store used their break room as a primary survival shelter.
Alex Trufin and Tony Brodell (Store Management): Upon hearing the tornado sirens, the management team immediately enacted their hazard-preparedness plan. They directed all on-duty employees to shelter inside the employee break room, which was located in the interior core of the building away from external windows.
Customers who were still at the storefront were rushed into the restroom directly adjacent to the break room. As the tornado ripped through the store and caused heavy structural collapse, the reinforced interior walls of the break room and bathroom held together, allowing all employees and customers to survive without serious injuries.

The Joplin Walmart Tornado (May 2011)
Because large retail stores have massive, open-span roofs that easily collapse under high winds, employees and customers are trained to flee to the back of the building. Dozens of traumatized people crowded into the reinforced employee break room and back stock rooms, which served as a designated storm shelter. They huddled together while the outer shell of the store was entirely torn away, successfully riding out the storm inside.

Use your head, don't lose it.

In my mind though that was always on a human scale. Of course flood waters can sweep away wood, and even stone. Of course with enough time they can even melt through concrete.

But picking up entire concrete structures like they're made of paper. Flood waters higher than sky scrapers. It was genuinely unimaginable to me before this.

Here we are talking about climbing up steep mountain sides, boulders, and running through dwarf mountain pine. Not even talking about starting on lets say, the other side of the border checkpoint.

Does any anon know the time difference between these two images?
Based on the first image it looks like mud and debris completely filled in the valley and no running water is noticeable. In the second image you can clearly see the bedrock platform that the border crossing had been built on and flowing rivers cutting through the valley.

Seems like the first image was taken right after the initial deluge and maybe the mud and debris were blocking the river flows? Have there been secondary waves of flooding? I know they're concerned about a new lake forming and breaching but based on these two images it seems maybe an initial post-deluge lake has already burst?

Or is the first image actually chronologically after the second one?

It looks like at some point, a long time ago, the glacier came from the east and summited then enveloped the peak of that mountain.
Heat probably did contribute.. I don't know how old it is but at least 100s of thousands of years of weight building up.. melting some and then refreezing causing the peak to just completely collapse on one side.

I bet there probably are a few people who survive a day or two but they are going to be incredibly hard to find to the point of it basically being impossible, because of how large the area affected by the flood is.

so its fake and gay. i wonder why or who exactly was in that special one tourist group at the situation that the chinese/israeli let them kill. who or what or why would be so important that they make such a massive landslide, such a mess? probably a win-win-win...ect scenario
we know they shoot down planes full with people just to get one patent holder dead.
but this? risking an international debacle?
in another thread we had an anon who said they found some rare elements or something
