Realistically speaking, what is stopping Canada from launching a surprise invasion of the US mainland right now?The military is kind of preoccupied at the moment and any attempt to mobilize the national guard against the Canadians would pretty much guarantee a civil war. At this point, I don't it's outside of the realm of possibility that some states could formally defect.
