If you go immediately after you are bitten, they will give you the rabies vaxx and a dose of rabies immunoglobulin (basically the antibodies you would produce if you had already been vaxxed for it) and you will probably be fine. In the US, they do this routinely anytime someone gets bitten by a random animal. If you wait too long and do start getting symptoms, you are fucked and there is no cure at that point.
