We owe our survival to them, and other animals, and they to us.We need to treat them good, that's for sure, but they have no ability to survive in the wilderness long-term if not we protect them, and during cataclysmic events, when food is scarce, most of the vegetation is not edible for us humans, but is perfect for goats, sheep and so on.So by taking care of them they provide us with milk, meat and wool etc, while our job is to give them a good life. You can argue about, they don't die from old age, but guess what, if they do, the whole animal goes to waste and isn't usable at all.Anyway, although we're not in an ice age, and can produce enough vegetables for us now, it's still retarded.
