Warsaw Pact breaking up was generally a good thing and same applies to EU. It is no longer efficient, pro-EU politicians overtax their citizens while prosecuting their free speech and holding political ties with China. Maybe US under Trump could set up a new ruling class for Europe and Britain that would be less leftist and cosmopolitan?

we're not very good at that, and france would be in for a very hard time if they were cut off from leeching on germany
they'd never tolerate it, they would try to take it by force for certain
so right now is a bad time since our army is in no shape to defend ourselves
