The AI bubble might shamble on for a while longer, but the explosive growth that it had before is probably over and its much more likely to suffer a major collapse in the next year unless something dramatic happens.

It's the only way to make AI's "better" instead of just bigger - they need to force humans to interact with AI as much as possible so they can use the heaps of training data to train the new generation on AI. Human interaction is the only thing that's actively preventing model collapse. These billion dollar models are propped by by Redditors occasionally saying something interesting but mostly all training data has been exhausted and we've encountering diminishing returns.

The problem is that in reality its not that simple. Training your AI on a curated dataset is powerful. Training your AI on human interaction across the internet was not the wonderfix they thought it would be... because most people on the internet are *dumb*. The AI is constantly being fed poison pills by people posting inane bullshit or wrong opinions or culture war nonsense, and as long as bot accounts give those responses 100,000 upvotes the AI can't tell the difference between that and something actually worth remembering.They are having to constantly tweak the models and purge data sets to flush out the internet's bad takes so that someone doesn't ask for a recipe for cornbread and get the instructions "Preheat the oven, mix butter and flour, hitler did nothing wrong, goblins are easy to hypnotize."
