(NewsNation) — Vivek Ramaswamy says he is heading back to East Palestine, Ohio, after NewsNation exclusively reported that class action attorneys withheld their own expert’s alarming soil test results from the residents they represented.

When those attorneys negotiated a $600 million settlement with the railroad, Petty’s test results were not released — not to the court, and not to their own clients.

What Petty found was alarming. His analysis detected dioxins and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, known as PAHs — among the most carcinogenic compounds identified by environmental scientists — at levels the Environmental Protection Agency’s own cancer screening thresholds would flag for remediation review.

“Somewhere between 50 and 70% of the data points, whether they be for dioxins or for PAHs, exceeded screening levels,” Petty told NewsNation. “Cancer screening levels.”
