In a Economic Democracy, the workers in a company own it collectively. In contrast, in a traditional communist society, the country as a whole would "own" that company. The workers in a Economic Democracy, would be able to make decisions on behalf of the company through voting.Excluding the afformentioned changes, an Economic Democracy would operate as any capitalist society would. Meaning that, people's labor would no longer be owned by shareholders. Without having to resort to absurd communist practices.>Inb4, this is impossible. This is already in place for a company in Spain called Mondragon. Which has existed for over eighty years now.>inb4, shareholder funding.Back when people could afford a suburban house on a mailman's salary, a few people pooling together their savings to start a company isn't so outrageous. And this gap exists because companies aren't incentivized to raise wages to account for inflation.
There's nothing stopping you now from starting a company in which every employee is an equal partner.
