>AfD politician Stephan Bothe filed an appeal with the Higher Administrative Court of Lüneburg on Thursday against his disqualification from the district administrator (Landrat) election. A court spokesperson confirmed this to NDR Niedersachsen on Friday. The appeal consists of 96 pages plus appendices. The court will rule on the matter before the election, according to the spokesperson. The Higher Administrative Court has now requested a statement from the Lüneburg district by early next week. In it, the district is expected to justify once again why the district electoral committee disqualified Bothe from the district administrator election. In July, the committee had questioned Bothe's loyalty to the constitution. Bothe had already taken legal action against his exclusion before the Administrative Court in Lüneburg, but was unsuccessful.
