why does taiwan still bother with the "republic of china" larp? it's 2026 and the constitution of taiwan still says that they claim all of china and mongolia as well as parts of afghanistan, pakistan, india, nepal, myanmar and russia. at what point will they just give up this larp and embrace their identity as "taiwan"?they're never going to be able to invade china. it just won't happen. even if there was some kind of revolution in china, they wouldn't just submit to the ROC government. also, why not develop nukes? since they along with japan, korea, and the US, (as well as the philippines, vietnam and australia to a lesser extent) are all so worried about china invading, why not just build a few nukes with the promise that they will only be used defensively and never worry about it again? it seems like it would save them, as well as the US, SK and japan a lot of money and anxiety.
>>541622344Taiwan is only allowed to exist by the Americans so long as they give Americans exclusive rule over chip distribution. The exchange is one of a tributary. Were Taiwan to have nukes, they would no longer need the US to guarantee its existence, and thus have sovereignty over the chips they produce. The US would sooner nuke the shit out of Taiwan themselves than let such a scenario develop.
