Turkey for example has been a member since 1952 but still gets treated like the outsider. Greece seems to only be in the alliance to make sure Turkey stays an outsider. France quit once upon a time over the US dominance. The UK and Germany both are getting cozier with China. Poland is the most focused and significant counterweight to Russian military power, but has its own strategic reasons to prefer places like Ukraine and Moldova never become members. USA threatens Canada, threatens Denmark, threatens any ally at any time basically. So on and so on. Interesting times are ahead for this shaky alliance. Don't expect uprisings though, more like public spats between elites.
