She was semi-insane, I think due to sexual assault as teenager, and became so obsessed with dicks that a lot of her early work was stuffing socks to make phallic tentacles and sewing them to furniture. If you google her, you'll see the tentacle influence in a lot of it. OP has a point about the modern art degeneracy. I think some of the polka dot and infinity mirror stuff is neat, but I'm a sucker for trippy shit.

Contemporary artists are all frauds though, the underpaid studio assistants probably did all the painting and conceptual work and she just put her brand on it, that's how contemporary art works. The "artist" is more like the CEO of a brand, they may not even know how to hold a paintbrush or have any technical skill whatsoever.
