I’ve been thinking about lately

low-income housing is supposed to provide people with a stable place to live, but sometimes the reality can be very different from what people imagine.

There are a lot of things that rarely get talked about—the waiting, the conditions, the rules, the lack of options, and what it can feel like to have very little control over where you live.

I’m curious what other people have experienced or noticed. What do you think is the biggest problem with low-income housing today?

Low income housing has turned into a scam people use to get government money for housing illegals.
Yes, I know this isn't what you asked.

The gangs make living there a pain in the fucking ass. Usually its one gang that controls the housing projects but where I grew up the projects were so big we had multiple gangs constantly chimping out on each other.

The more you work hard and make responsible choices the better your life is. And that’s not oppression, that’s life. Comfort and a nice home isn’t a human right.

No way can anyone still believe that this is still true and, if you truly believe that, you need to do the world a favor and walk in front of a bus.

Lowlifes doing lowlife things. Constantly. Around the clock. 24 hours. 365. It's unfortunate for the few honest noble people living in these places working or just got a bad hand dealt to them. And they are everywhere and growing. HUD is not good for anyone and I'm pretty sure they just passed a bill expanding it. Also they get these vouchers paying near, if not a thousand dollars which makes the rest of the complex prices go up.
