Why are there so many videos of russian conscripts killing themselves in Ukraine?
You either get rotated back into the front on crutches or go back to Russia, either way better save yourself the suffering and just die.

Hundreds of them get sent out on dirt bikes and golf carts just to probe for a good location to send the real soldiers.They know they're being sent out to die, and if they go back, they'll just have to do it again. Storm Z units are often no better than penal battalions and are usually made up of refuseniks and people who can't pay bribes to their commanders.They're already part of a suicide attack and their commanders don't want them alive.

Storm Z units are usually punitive. Even if they took out a contract willingly, which isn't always the case, this is not where they wanted to be. By this point they've likely been beaten, starved, extorted, and probably raped.
