I'll probably try to make a stealth thread about this on /k/ later but technically this is the board because no politics on /k/ unless it's about ICE or third world shit like yurop and ukraine for some reason
Anyway, the SCOTUS is taking up 3 cases related to assault weapons bans. One from Illinois, one from Connecticut and one from New Jersey.
In response, New Jersey has appointed some guy anti gun czar and he will be using his office to sue FFLs/gun stores in NJ out of business. Somehow this gets around the PLCAA because it doesn't involve interstate commerce since the gun stores are in NJ (but growing grain to feed your livestock and selling sandwiches at your restaurant is interstate commerce somehow).
IDK of any large scale gun manufacturers in NJ, Henry left the state for Wisconson
Colorado has some bill that's introducing stratified prepurchase licenses under Bruen footnote 9 that the DoJ and several states say allows prepurchase licenses. Bruen footnote 9 says shall issue permits/licenses are allowed. NJ has FIDs, Illinois has FOIDs, idk of any other state has those. A decent number of states have some kind of permit to purchase a handgun. the colorado bill would stratify purchases so like one license to buy repeating rifles and repeating or semi automatic shotguns. A second license with a class that's like 10 or 20 hours and a $200 fee to purchase a handgun and a third license with a 40 hour class and $800 fee to buy a semi auto rifle. NJ and california have some stupid power points you have to sit through before you buy a gun. NJ used to charge $5 for an FID and $2 for a pistol permit. IDK what it is now or if they raised it. It was $5 when I got mine and free to change my address. States can't charge more than an admin fee related to the cost of running the program for a right so the upper price of one of these "permits" is theoretically capped. I know that faggot murphy wanted to make it like $500 or something crazy. I think CCWs are like $500

The government doesn't want you to know this but it's actually free to CCW

If I were dictator, I would ban small guns. But everybody get the right to open-carry guns too big to conceal (e.g. a garand)
Then I'd encourage people to carry around swords instead, and legalise dueling. Dueling with guns is stupid, dueling with swords? Just play till first blood, it's far less likely anybody dies.
