You only need to use your phone to pay. Both of these facts contribute towards lower pick pocketing risks. You still need to be wary of your surroundings but I've noticed that self checkouts do have their benefits.

You then pay and they say excuse me sir/man or bro/sis that sheit's mine and create a fuss, they further hope that you would just cuck and hand it over to them without checking the bill to show that you paid for it, or if you do they purposely ignore the proof and create an even bigger fuss or become violent hoping that you just cave in out of fear.
