During the recent trade negotiations the Canadians were reportedly using terms like, "we need to reach a win-win", implying both sides would benefit from whatever deal. The US trade negotiators told them win-win was bullshit and the only deal acceptable would be win-lose. They were even prepared to accept a lose-lose as long as Canada lost more. Canadians need to make peace with the fact that the US are no longer our friends. Trump will eventually leave office, but the people pulling his strings will pull the strings of the new leader. You will not see a great unwinding of the US policy. For better or worse, Americans are very patriotic and will rightfully support their Commander in Chief.
