>>541706992I know shits fucked because all the oil indexes are delaying the publicly available live price updates lol.
>>541705099Its a matter of playing the long game. Making the war too costly for the US to stay in the region or oppose Iran makes the US back off, especially because we have nothing to fight for right now. Seriously, all of our strategic goals at the moment are basically just to make this whole thing go away without looking like a huge bitch and running away from the fight. We don't actually want anything other than to protect our national pride. If Iran attacks Israel, it fuels a narrative that the US needs to come to Israel's defense. It makes it less likely that we will leave.Getting the US to back off first, and THEN bombing Israel to the ground when the US is no longer running interference, is the safer and more effective play. Because Iran can pretty much effortlessly win a 1v1 against Israel. Making the US go home first is the smart move.
>>541704567pics or didnt happen
>>541704567Its not August 31st yet
>>541705099because israel has nuclear weapons and iran doesn't, despite what israel likes to say.
>>541707680That’s logical, but there’s religious eschatology involved in all fronts, the US isn’t gonna abandon Israel no matter what.
prepare your anoose
>>541707821ah i see theyve taken inspiration from dethklok
>>541707793Not by choice, no. But ideology has no choice but to kneel before logistics. You can't do what you can't do, even if you want to.The US economy is very shaky right now for a whole bunch of reasons that its not worth doing the autopsy on right now, and the global impact from Hormuz being closed makes that worse. We've avoided a true oil shock by depleting our reserves, but without an exit strategy this was very stupid because it just plays for time with a resource we have a limited amount of AND we would need to launch a major military offensive. By doing NOTHING but keep the oil markets from going supernova today, the oil markets are still destined to go supernova a month from now and we have no expectation that our situation then will be any better than it is now. Iran can simply hold their breath longer than we can, because once the economic reality hits us with nothing to soften the blow the American people won't tolerate the war for another two weeks, $10 per gallon gasoline will lead to riots in the streets and the paralysis of our economy. And, most importantly, WE NEED OIL TO WAGE WAR HALFWAY ACROSS THE PLANET. Everything runs on it. By waiting as long as we have, we have effectively removed the option to wage a ground invasion of Iran even if we WERE willing to throw 5 million american lives away, because we don't have the fucking gasoline to make that happen without outright fuel rationing at home, which is a wombo-combo that is asking for political violence. Our choices get more restricted, and outright worse, the longer this goes on. We have no winning moves, only different flavors of losing moves with some worse than others. The political elite being beholden to Israel cannot change that reality, and eventually the choice becomes one between serving Israel and personal survival. Aipac money for your campaign fund isn't worth anything if you are so reviled that victory isn't on the table no matter how much you outspend your opponent
>>541707680>Because Iran can pretty much effortlessly win a 1v1 against IsraelYou sure about that?>>541708376>>WE NEED OIL TO WAGE WAR HALFWAY ACROSS THE PLANETDon't we have access to Venezuela's entire oil reserves now?
>>541709771>Don't we have access to Venezuela's entire oil reserves now?Yeah, and no way to take it in any meaningul capacity since it's all busted and no oil company wants to take trump's word on investing in that shithole
>>541709771>VenezuelaUNTAPPED estimated oil reservesChevron said they could (if someone {aka Uncle Sam} coughs up some risk aversion subsidies) get Venezuela back up to a Mbblpd in a year, and maybe 3 Mbblpd in a decade. There's a ton of infrastructure that has to be built to get to that trapped oil. That isn't solving anything short term.
>>541707680Iran's economy is dead, dummy. They are fucked. The war is over and everyone knows it except for people who just got redpilled last month(you).
>>541710096>That isn't solving anything short term.It solves some perception problems for Emperor Orange. Money changers are taking advantage of the economic consequences from this "information". They are happy.
