The Investigative Committee dropped a murder charge against a St. Petersburg crime boss acquainted with Putin.
Russia’s Investigative Committee dropped the murder charge against St. Petersburg businessman and Vladimir Putin acquaintance Ilya Traber in the killing of entrepreneur Alexander Petrov, Fontanka wrote, citing its sources. According to the outlet, investigators concluded that Traber had no involvement in the crime. Several days earlier the 75-year-old businessman was released from Lefortovo pre-trial detention in Moscow because of a “sharp deterioration in health.” He went to St. Petersburg, where, Fontanka said, he held a series of meetings with officials and businesspeople. Traber also received the right to rehabilitation and compensation for unlawful detention.
FSB officers detained Traber on June 17 in the 2020 killing of Vyborg businessman Petrov, who was considered his right-hand man. His longtime business partner Vladimir Danilenko was detained with him. After the arrest the businessman left the founding group of several companies, including Primorsky UPK, one of Russia’s largest new port complexes. Traber is among St. Petersburg’s most influential businessmen; Spanish prosecutors have called him one of the leaders of the Tambov organized-crime group. In the 1990s he controlled the St. Petersburg port, the oil terminal there and a number of fuel companies. While working in the St. Petersburg mayor’s office, Putin assisted Traber’s business.

A second Russian ground offensive on Kyiv from Belarus is highly unlikely and would take years to reach the capital, French open-source analyst Clément Molin said on Sunday, after a senior Ukrainian official disclosed that Moscow had ordered contingency planning for operations toward Kyiv and Chernihiv.
Pavlo Palisa, deputy head of the presidential office, said on Aug. 29 that intelligence, checked through several sources, showed Russia’s political leadership had tasked the military with drawing up more than one option on those axes. He drew a line between planning and execution: Ukraine, he said, does not currently see an offensive grouping forming in the north.
Molin, who maps Ukrainian fortifications from satellite imagery, listed three obstacles to a repeat of February 2022. First, Kyiv would strike Belarus if its territory were used again as a launch pad, a contingency Minsk is not prepared to absorb. Second, Ukrainian wire and earthworks now begin at the border. Chernihiv is covered by a main belt plus two smaller lines in front of the city and three closer to the frontier; work is continuing around Chornobyl and northeast of Zhytomyr, including the cutting of forest to string continuous barriers. Third, there would be no surprise. Mined roads, large forests and wetlands would prevent a rapid thrust. A ground offensive on Kyiv, he wrote, would last years.
Smaller Russian actions remain possible, he said, mainly in northern Sumy region and eastern Chernihiv region, where defensive lines sit farther from the Russian border and forests would favor infiltration of the kind already seen east of Hlukhiv. Those probes would have little strategic weight unless Russia mobilized hundreds of thousands of additional troops.

That assessment aligns with the force levels reported on the Belarus axis. Independent monitors put Russian personnel in Belarus at about 2,200 in early August, with a Belarusian grouping of about 1,000 on the Ukrainian direction performing largely security tasks. Ukrainian commanders have previously said a serious offensive from Belarus would require on the order of 70,000 troops. No such concentration has been reported.

National Guard assault troops cleared about two square kilometers of forest north of Kupiansk, the Khartiia Corps said on Sunday, in a limited push that the Institute for the Study of War judged possible only after Russian drones in the sector had been suppressed.
The 23rd Separate Assault Regiment R.U.G. said its groups drove Russian infantry from prepared positions west of Dvorichna and south-west of Zapadne, collected weapons and documents, and kept moving into the woods. The unit released drone and helmet-camera footage of the action. Russian channels had dismissed an earlier Khartiia claim of 7.5 square kilometers in the same belt as propaganda and said the ground remained under Russian control.
ISW treated the new clip as geolocated. It counted at least 15 to 20 Ukrainian soldiers — up to a platoon — moving through the sector, including across open ground. That pattern, the institute said, points to prior Ukrainian strikes that degraded Russian strike-drone coverage, leaving the assault groups less exposed than is usual on this front. ISW also noted recent Ukrainian hits on manpower, unmanned ground vehicles, radars, electronic-warfare sets, communications antennas and Molniya-type drones on the Kupiansk axis.
The two-square-kilometer strip follows the Aug. 25 operation in which the same regiment, including foreign volunteers, reported clearing 7.5 square kilometers southwest of Dvorichna and taking the northern edge of Zapadne. DeepState recorded a Ukrainian regain of control near Zapadne but still mapped Dvorichna as occupied and Zapadne as incompletely held. Both villages sit on the northern approaches to Kupiansk along the Oskil River. The latest gain is tactical. It does not, on present evidence, alter the wider contest over the river line.

A FAB-500 glide bomb struck a residential block in central Sloviansk at 4:20 a.m. on Monday, collapsing one entrance from the first to the fifth floor and wounding four civilians, the city’s military administration said.
Vadym Liakh said the blast also wrecked a private house and damaged at least 32 apartment buildings, a hotel, a kindergarten and vehicles. The wounded, aged 61 to 66, were in their flats. Footage recorded at the site shows the torn-open stairwell and the rubble pile beneath it.
The strike fits a weeks-long pattern against Sloviansk and neighbouring Kramatorsk, the two remaining large cities of Ukraine’s Donetsk “fortress belt.” Emergency services said Sunday that Russian attacks had set high-rises on fire in both cities: balconies and apartments on the fifth to seventh floors of a nine-storey in Sloviansk, and, in Kramatorsk, an FPV strike on a five-storey plus a separate hit that burned a 13th-floor flat in a 14-storey block. Separate FAB-250 salvos on Kramatorsk on Aug. 25 and 27 wounded dozens and damaged dozens of apartment buildings.
Liakh has said Russian forces now mix small FPV drones with FAB glide bombs and, more recently, Smerch and Tornado-S rockets. About 25,000 people remain in Sloviansk. Regional authorities have classed the city as a combat zone and are expanding mandatory evacuation on the outskirts as Russian units close to within about 10 kilometres of the agglomeration.

There were always four choices however you cut it. 1. Peace 2. Ceasefire/stalemate 3. Continue attritional warfare 4. Escalate. Putin for the last 5 years chose option 3, just keep deziggering the puccia and emptying the treasury. Trump's shit eating kike family members tried to get option 2 and failed pathetically. If 1 and 4 are too expensive for puccia, and running 3 for another year is also too expensive, then 2 becomes more attractive in comparison.
What monke has been trying to do for the past 20 months or so is try to get option 2 + tip. Ceasefire + northwestern chain of Donetsk towns for free. Dangling 4. Escalation as a viable option for rusniggeria is a negotiating tactic.

putin dying might cause some chaos in russia and I think thats what people are hoping for. Entire state is built around him personally and russia is not a hereditary monarchy so its not clear who would be his successor. But that doesnt have to mean end of the war of course. Blaming only putin for everything is a cheap way for some westerners to keep the option of restarting cooperation with russia once he's gone.

>>541724861
I think the messaging might be that pypa is never going to abandon the idea of capturing entirety of donbas so maybe it will be easier for the West to just accept it and coerce Ukraine into agreeing on it. Which is of course nonsense because russia didnt start this war just for capturing one or two oblasts in Ukraine and they will restart hostilities in few years once their army is reinforced.

Vladimir Putin has decided to escalate the war in Ukraine rather than settle short of full control of Donbas, fearing that a lesser outcome would threaten not only his hold on power but his life, unnamed sources close to the Kremlin told The Economist.
One source said the Russian president told aides: “They’ll hang me.” The magazine, in a report dated Aug. 30, said Putin concluded after a summer of debate that “inertia” — grinding on at the present tempo — only consumes money and political capital without a decisive result. He therefore intends to raise the intensity of the fighting.
The sources said that means putting another 300,000 to 400,000 men into the field. A fresh nationwide mobilisation decree is not required: the September 2022 order remains in force. The burden would fall on regional governments, which would apply local pressure so that unrest stays out of Moscow. The same sources said the method is already being tried in Penza region, where men have been taken off the street and pushed into contracts.
That Penza account matches months of reporting by independent Russian media of enlistment raids since June. Regional police deny forced recruitment and say they are only rounding up men who skipped military registration.
The manpower figure overlaps a public Ukrainian estimate. Zelensky said on Aug. 23 that Russia would likely call up about 300,000 after this month’s Duma elections to reinforce the push on Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and the rest of the Donetsk fortress belt. Putin has set a year-end deadline to take the whole oblast; ISW assesses Russian forces hold about four-fifths of it and have missed every previous deadline.
None of the Kremlin-source quotes has been confirmed on the record. What is established is the legal path for a quiet expansion of the draft, a documented experiment in Penza, and a political reading — shared by Kyiv and by The Economist’s sources — that Putin treats anything short of Donbas as an existential risk.

Elon Musk has told Ukraine he will not authorise Starlink over Russian territory unless the White House does so first, people familiar with talks between the SpaceX owner and former defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov said.
The Financial Times reported that Kyiv wants Starlink-equipped drones to hunt mobile ballistic-missile launchers up to 200 km inside Russia — a belt that includes launch sites covering Belgorod, Kursk and other border regions. Volodymyr Zelensky put the same request to Donald Trump at the White House on July 28. Trump said he would consider it and made no commitment. Musk declined to meet Zelensky on that visit.
Fedorov, dismissed as defence minister in July but still Kyiv’s liaison to Musk, said on Aug. 6 that the conversation was continuing and “difficult.” In a later FT interview, Zelensky said Musk regards extending coverage deep into Russia as a “major escalation” and has so far said no. “All of this is in the hands of the U.S. president,” Zelensky said. Ukraine awarded Musk a state honour the same week.
Starlink already underpins Ukrainian command and strike drones on Ukrainian territory, including occupied Crimea. SpaceX blocks the service on internationally recognised Russian soil. Kyiv’s pitch is that a limited geofence over the 200 km belt would let it hit launchers before they fire, easing a shortage of Patriot interceptors. Ukraine already reaches some of those sites with other guidance; Starlink would make the link harder to jam.
Musk has reversed himself on wartime use before — cutting Ukrainian access near Crimea in 2022, then helping Fedorov shut down illicit Russian terminals in Ukraine this winter. The present request sits with Trump.

Threatening to invade the Baltic isn't anything new either. The 80iq pypster has been doing that since 2022 also. People got convinced the threat is more credible now that Agent Krasnov is actively sabotaging NATO. But it's really not. Putin is, above all, a professional shittalker and a gambler. I see nothing that would make the current rattling of the sabers any more credible than previous ones. Low supply of interceptors alone doesn't cut it. Maybe I'm totally wrong and WW3 kicks off in Narva and Suwalki two weeks time. But I deem the chance extremely low. (((Experts))) be damned.

That last part really pisses me off. You know as much as comparable tyrants like stalin or hitler get shat on, at least both of them had spine to take part in actual combat in their younger years. So at least both of them knew very well what they are unleashing when they started WW2 together

Yeah you're right, the shitshow of Russian military organisation basically guarantees they can't organise a larger plan than that. Obviously there's all the standard drunken idiocy and corruption that plagues everything in russia but even beyond that they're too incompetent for large scale strategy.
Look at this map, this was months ago, the higher ups are told that Russia has advanced such a ridiculous amount further than they actually have, how does someone organise when they're 20+km wrong about where their troops are?
Combine that with Ukraine focusing on killing generals, troop concentrations and supplies and you've got a situation where the majority of the plan really is, as you say, meatwaves and hope.

narva and suwalki are way too lofty goals that come from, once again, everybody over estimating pozzia. First would turn into pure urban slaughter with anything resembling resistance, being Pokrovsk sized, and latter has to get through the lithuanian swamp and urban belt that borders Belarus.

Realistically I expect the first wave to be either a drone harassment campaign, like flying explosives into the electrical grid, or targeting extremely vulnerable small pieces of clay. For example lithuania has a particular border gore stretching into Belarus. Easy to march in, block off the only road leading into it, hard to recapture it (pic related)

Not sure about WW3, but regional war, sure. As so far its pretty logical only those with skin on the line take pozzia very seriously. Poland, Finland, Sweden, us. While the rest of europe are safely tucked away behind Poland and Ukraine

None of them did. Therefore, the mission was a failure.

>The first batch remained at an altitude of 510-540 km. One satellite did not perform any maneuvers and burned up in the atmosphere on June 6th, while two others remained at an altitude of 350-370 km.

>The second batch didn't even reach that altitude – nine of the devices only reached 313–332 km, which is approximately 200 km lower than the first batch at the same stage. Two more did not maneuver at all, descended below 300 km, and, according to observers, are expected to leave orbit in the near future.

as far as monke breathes it wont stop until one of us dies. Honestly, since war is inevitable with current course I hope it starts as long as Ukraine is going on. They tie up the bulk of the mass, including their most experienced units. All pidors could spare for us right now is drafted biomass with barely a week of training. They are way more experienced in drone war, but without the boots to capitalize on it all it does is train us to counter it as effectively as ukranians do. Since nobody, even small states, learn shit until they get a taste of it on their skin. As the human ego is the same no matter how big or small the organization is

Now if there were a pause in the war and all of that mass released from ukraine started suddenly building up behind our borders, then that is the absolute worst case scenario.

Russia would literally have to ask permission for nukenings. From USA, France, UK and China..atleast those. Otherwise opening the nuke silo will lead immediate counter nukenings from NATO and very likely from China. Locations of those silos are no secret and they are monitored 24/7 with various methods. Only way for Russia to use them is inform NATO in advance.

What are the chances of AfD doing a 180 because they realize Russia is an anti-European haven of degeneracy that actively promotes the immigration they want to fight? The 2015 Syrian migrant crisis was because of Russia. The 2026 invasion of Ceuta was because of Russia. Russia keeps smuggling in shitskins from Belarus in underground tunnels. Of course not. Meanwhile Kiev is shittinh bricks. Also 5% of Starlink satelites failed to reach orbit initially.
>If the second batch follows the same orbital-raising profile as the first, Stepanets' analysis projects it will reach operational altitude by October or November 2026, adding two more daily coverage windows for a total of roughly four per day
>https://www.techtimes.com/articles/323875/20260811/russias-rassvet-clears-ukraine-coverage-threshold-ahead-schedule-gur-warns.htm

>Russia's Rassvet satellite constellation — built as a sovereign alternative to Starlink — delivered its first operationally significant milestone on July 31, 2026, when satellite communications expert Volodymyr Stepanets confirmed to Ukrainian defense publication Militarnyi that the first production batch was already providing two daily coverage windows over Ukrainian territory, each lasting more than one hour. A day later, Ukraine's GUR military intelligence directorate went further: Deputy Head Major General Vadym Skibitskyi told RBC-Ukraine in an interview published August 10, 2026, that Russia is deploying the constellation "much faster than originally planned" and that countermeasure discussions are already underway.

The State Duma accused the West of pushing Russia toward the use of nuclear weapons
The West is provoking a “nuclear catastrophe” with its actions against Russia, Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma defence committee, told Podyom. He said “unfriendly” countries have “grown insolent” because they do not believe Moscow is ready to take “cardinal measures.” According to the deputy, Russia could use nuclear weapons if strikes of comparable force hit its territory. “The West is pushing us toward this. God forbid, they could simply force us into it,” Kolesnik said.
The deputy added that “everyone understands by default” that the world is now “sliding into a nuclear catastrophe,” and that if a new large-scale war starts there will be “no Fourth World War — not with sticks, not with bows, not with arrows,” because “the globe will collapse.” “Western Europe and the United States come out with some kind of good intentions and themselves worsen the conflict however they can. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. So there is nothing comforting for anyone,” Kolesnik concluded.

Drones struck housing and a logistics site in Yekaterinburg on Monday, the Sverdlovsk governor said, in what Ukrainian monitors described as another attempt on a Wildberries warehouse more than 1,700 km from Ukraine.
Denis Pasler said drones and debris hit apartment buildings and a logistics centre. There were no deaths. Injuries were still being counted. Fires broke out. Air defence, aircraft and mobile fire groups were engaged. Presidential envoy Artem Zhoga said apartments were damaged and that an attack on a trading-company warehouse had been “prevented,” with wreckage falling beside the building. About 50 residents of the Utes complex in the Chkalovsky district were moved to a school basement; one woman was taken to hospital. Koltsovo airport was closed.98c94b
kazan.aif
Wildberries said staff were evacuated and the warehouse itself was not damaged. Exilenova+ said the aim was the company’s Urals distribution hub — about 158,000 square metres — and that only one drone reached the site, falling a few metres short.
The same complex was attacked on 25 July, when a parking-lot fire burned cars, and on 7 August, when three drones hit the roof, started a fire and forced the evacuation of 800 people. Since mid-July Ukrainian long-range drones have struck Wildberries hubs across Russia. The company has said it is hardening sites after those raids.

Steam stopped loading for large numbers of Rostelecom broadband customers on Monday, even though the platform itself was up.
Downdetector and Russian outage boards logged more than 1,600 complaints by 9 a.m. Moscow time, mainly from Moscow region, Kaliningrad, Samara, Novosibirsk and Kurgan. Users said the store spun indefinitely and games would not start because the client could not reach Steam servers. Reports from other providers were sparse. The same pattern had appeared on Rostelecom lines over the weekend.
Rostelecom told customers on VK that it does not block sites on its own initiative. It did not say whether state filtering equipment on its network was dropping Steam traffic. Roskomnadzor denied a full Steam ban in June. The service remains officially available in Russia, with separate limits on payments and some storefronts.
Steam is not a new target. DPI boxes used for Russia’s “sovereign internet” already interfere with game and VPN protocols, and an Aug. 18 power cut at Moscow’s M9 hub briefly took Steam offline nationwide. Monday’s fault looks narrower: one national fixed-line operator, one set of Valve domains.

Russians have spent 15% less on online marketplaces in recent weeks than a month or two earlier, Sberbank’s finance chief said, after Ukrainian drones began hitting Wildberries and Ozon warehouses.
Taras Skvortsov told TASS, citing SberIndex card data, that year-on-year growth is still positive but has almost halved. “That is very significant,” he said. “I think these are only the first signs.” He was speaking ahead of the Eastern Economic Forum.
Sber estimates marketplaces now take 37% of household non-food spending and 15% of all consumer spending, up from 24% of non-food a year ago. Skvortsov said the platforms and the government were trying to rebuild logistics “without a substantial rise” in prices.
The spending dip follows six weeks of drone strikes on marketplace hubs. In late July the same official said damage to firms using those warehouses was already “quite significant,” with about 300 Sber clients seeking loan restructurings. Separately, seller commissions and logistics fees on Ozon and Wildberries have risen above 40% of list price this year, cutting merchant margins. The card-spend figure measures demand; it does not isolate lost stock, delayed deliveries or higher checkout prices.

A former factory chief went on trial on charges of selling the Interior Ministry and National Guard radios built with Chinese parts while billing them as Russian.
Vasil Musin, once general director of AO Uralskiye Zavody, faces fraud charges over ten contracts from 2015 to 2023 for about 6,500 Erika-360 radios. Investigators put the “illegal profit” at 383.2 million rubles ($4.7 million at current rates) and say he acted with Vitaly Shurygin, the companies’ beneficiary, who is wanted and has been arrested in absentia. Musin denies guilt and told the Oktyabrsky district court that “not a ruble” of budget money was stolen. The charge carries up to 10 years.
The case started with a single 50.5 million-ruble 2023 deal for 843 sets and later absorbed nine earlier contracts. Prosecutors say the sets did not match contract annexes because they used Chinese components. Musin says those parts were in the approved design documents, cleared by the Interior Ministry, and that the radios passed acceptance tests and remain in use with police, Rosgvardiya and the FSB.
Defence lawyers have challenged the NII Voskhod expert report that underpins the damage figure. The plant has said an internal check found no substitution of finished foreign radios. Erika sets have been in service with Russian security agencies for years, including at 2018 World Cup venues.

Russia’s transport ministry wants to put airline overbooking into the Air Code, with compensation for passengers left without a seat.
Minister Andrei Nikitin told RIA Novosti that no-shows leave empty seats and that carriers should be allowed to sell those seats on busy routes. If more ticket-holders arrive than the cabin can hold, he said, the airline “should not simply throw up its hands.” Draft rules would require another flight, cash and decent waiting conditions. Talks with airlines and consumer groups are due to start in September and finish by the end of the year. The practice would be limited at first to routes with frequent services so a replacement flight exists.
Overbooking is not named in current Russian law. Airlines already use no-show models; S7 has been fined 30,000 rubles when passengers were left behind. A bill to ban the practice was voted down in 2025. Prosecutors have asked for a statutory full refund. Compensation bands have not been published.
Nikitin argued that clear rules would give passengers more certainty, not less. Whether the final text resembles EU-style volunteer bumping and fixed payouts, or leaves more to the carrier, will be settled in the autumn debate.

>Satellite communications expert Volodymyr Stepanets told Militarnyi this based on an analysis of the Russian satellites’ trajectories.

>As of July 31, 2026, the satellites of the Russian company Bureau 1440, launched in late March 2026, had completed their deployment into operational formation in orbit. Twelve of the 16 launched satellites have already reached their operational altitude of 550 kilometers; three more are gradually ascending; and one satellite burned up, presumably due to a manufacturing defect.

Wholesale chicken-egg prices in Russia have doubled since the late-May seasonal low, while the official retail average is up 13% on the year.
Eggpack.ru put a dozen C1 eggs at 60 rubles wholesale on Aug. 23, a third higher than a year earlier. Kommersant said that was 140% above late May; the same report also described a 1.4-fold rise. The May floor for cheap wholesale lots was about 30 rubles, so the move from that trough is a doubling. The lowest advertised retail pack was still 49 rubles, up 26% year on year. Rosstat’s average on Aug. 24 was 93 rubles a dozen, +13.3%. Eggs eased 0.2% in the latest weekly print.
Mark Boichuk of Reksoft Consulting pointed to higher feed-additive, fuel, wage and haulage costs. A producer told Kommersant that shipments beyond 800 km were especially expensive and that prices could keep rising into year-end. Wholesale egg prices in Russia usually slump after the spring holidays and firm in autumn; some farms said May lots were sold below the ~75-ruble cash cost of a dozen.
Shoppers have not yet seen a repeat of the late-2023 retail shock. The gap between a 60-ruble wholesale dozen and a 93-ruble official average is the usual mix of grades, brands and store mark-ups — not a second shortage on the shelf.

None of what you are saying matters when two nuclear warheads is enough to end russia as it is.

>Skvortsov said the platforms and the government were trying to rebuild logistics “without a substantial rise” in prices.
This is impossible in a high volume, low margin business.

Coping nigger. Russians think fair play is weakness. Ukies are like us, smart enough to understand that a world of cheaters is a world of failures.

I've known and worked with plenty of Ukies, since I made it my business to know them ever since I had to change my mind about them being willing serfs of Russia back in 2014. I was happy to find that they are indeed not part of the Dennis race.

Russia’s digital ministry has told hosting, CDN and web-protection firms to put “whitelist” websites on their own IP subnets so banned services cannot share those addresses.
RBC published a ministry letter saying dedicated ranges would “exclude the use of whitelist IP addresses by organisations that have not received the relevant approval.” Officials want to keep VPN ads and other banned content off the same blocks as Gosuslugi, Mir payments, Yandex, Avito and Ozon — sites that stay up when mobile internet is restricted. Large hosts have already sketched such a split. Engineers told RBC it can be done but will take time and money: other customers on mixed subnets would have to be moved.
Whitelists have been rolled out with the drone-justified mobile cut-offs that spread through 2025. Monitors have counted them in most regions. Shared CDN and anti-DDoS addresses let extra sites slip onto those lists; Kod Durova reported earlier this year that some VPN servers rented whitelist IPs for that reason. The letter is meant to close that gap.
The ministry framed the step as cleaning permitted infrastructure. It does not, by itself, write a new blocking law. How fast hosts re-address their networks will decide whether the whitelist shrinks to only approved tenants.

It's honestly balm for my soul that /uhg/ knows and sees Ossis. They (that is to say, Dennis) misrepresented us on 4chan something fierce, to a point Ivan still gets perplexed when a kraut flag tells him to nosedive into a Novichok barrel.

no they are losing, hence why putin only hope of winning is an escalation. Of course this won't work but this will trigger ww3. Putin is out of options. He is also a fucking retard so he will never take a deal even one that would favor russia, too much ego in that piece of shit.
